Hello again. This time I have a deck based on the power of Thing in the Ice. Essentially a control player's wet dream, we get to do our controlling durdle thing and eventually get a 7/8 that bounces all non-horror creatures! I have created a Grixis version of this deck to give a good idea of the strengths and weaknesses- be sure to check it out!

So, why play Blue/Red/White? In my personal opinion I think that blue/red are an especially powerful combination with our deck since it is so easy to abuse the powerful bolt/snap/bolt combo. The real question here is why play white? Well there are three main reasons- Myth Realized, Path to Exile, and Lightning Helix. Myth Realized is a powerful late-game finisher that doesn't get bounced by Thing in the Ice or killed by Lilliana of the Veil, and both Path to Exile and Lightning Helix are even more powerful than normal in our shell because of the repeatable snapcaster casts.

The creature base is extremely straight forward- since we have a 0/4 just sitting around for the first few turns of the game, it makes the most sense to include spellskite maindeck to protect our best win-con. This gives us incidental game against boggles, infect, and burn game 1 since spellskite hoses them and they won't expect it in the main. Snapcaster Mage isn't a horror, so when thing in the ice flips he will return to our hand, allowing us to flashback another spell in our graveyard. Value. Myth Realized is an inevitable win-con that can just sit around until the time is right.

The spells are pretty straight forward as well, this is a classic Jeskai control list. The only variance I would expect to see is what number of spell snare vs remand vs mana leak vs lightning helix vs cryptic command. All of those spells are viable, the numbers of each really are indicative of the meta you face and your playstyle.

The mainboard is currently built around a creature-heavy format without a lot of combo. If you should encounter combo, sideboard in the negates and cryptic commands. Negates work well against planewalkers as well, something this deck is somewhat soft to. Spreading seas works well against scapeshift and tron, engineered explosives is in for zoo, coco, and affinity, as well as stony silence for affinity and tron. Extra spellskites for infect, burn, and boggles. Ancestral vision for games you anticipate to go long, so most midrange or mirror matchups. Leyline of Sanctity is good against burn, any deck that uses grapeshot, and grixis lists with their burns spells and Lilliana of the veil.

I really like this spell list, it seems very powerful and concise, with lots of room to play around with for tailoring your spells to have maximum impact against your opponent. Give this a star if you like what you see and good look testing!
