Good old Animar. In my opinion, one of the coolest designs to come out of the Commander pre-cons, and just screaming to be built around.
Why Animar?
Animar rocks the UG color combination, in my opinion the best dual colors in the game. The addition of R and Animar's special abilities are just right for creature combo. UGR doesn't lack for excellent ETB creatures, which this deck is built to abuse. Even if I don't combo, getting cheap creatures with Animar is a great way to play.
What are the win conditions?
Animar has become one of those commanders that are killed on sight, so this deck tries to win as quickly as it can by comboing out, and otherwise stall as long as possible while assembling the pieces. Some win combos:
Kiki-Jiki + Pestermite/Deceiver Exarch/Zealous Conscripts or Splinter Twin + Pestermite/Deceiver Exarch/Zealous Conscripts = infinite faeries/clerics with haste.
Defense of the Heart or entwined Tooth and Nail = fetch the above.
Animar + Palinchron = infinite mana and infinitely large Animar.
Animar + Tidespout Tyrant/Cloudstone Curio + Aluren + any number of creatures with CMC less than 3 = infinitely large Animar and infinite ETB effects.
Animar + Tidespout Tyrant/Cloudstone Curio + Eldrazi = see above.
Either of the above + Soul of the Harvest/Primordial Sage = draw your deck.
The above + Psychosis Crawler = mass loss of life.
Cards under consideration?
Grinning Ignus = infinite mana with Aluren.
Sylvan Primordial = major value. Will come close to filling the void left in my heart by Primeval Titan.
Great Whale, Peregrine Drake, morph creatures = good synergy with bounce effects.
Thragtusk = see above. All upside and playable for cheap.
