To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
The commander of this deck is General Tazri, but he is just there to fetch Zada, Hedron Grinder. This is incredibly slow in terms of actually playing your commander because it requires 9 mana across 2 turns. That said, this deck would work much better with Ink-Treader Nephilim as the commander, but for some confusing reason it is not legendary. The nephilim are often considered unofficial commanders, so if your playgroup lets you run him you should without a doubt. This takes inspiration from a fringe cEDH deck based around Jeskai Ascendancy. That deck deck uses the card to consistently untap its mana dorks and draw its whole deck with card draw spells. This deck also draws a lot of inspiration from a cEDH deck brewed by Cameron from the Lab Maniacs. His deck is built for an episode of their youtube channel where all commanders gain partner. He partners Zada with Yidris to get four color Zada as well (link: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/zadayidris/). He ends up winning the episode spectacularly (you should really check out the lab maniacs if you are at all interested in cEDH) and the deck utilizes the fact that zada allows you to copy spells like Expedite for all of you mana dorks to draw a ridiculous amount of cards for a low amount of mana. If you have a Jeskai Ascendancy out these cantrips turned massive card draw spells can net tons of mana and help you draw your deck in one big turn. In order to facilitate these card draw effects untapping your creatures consistently, in addition to Jeskai Ascendancy the deck runs Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal (or Benefactor's Draught if you have a Kiora's Follower), and Aggravated Assault. The deck also runs 17 mana dorks like Sylvan Caryatid in order for these untap engines to net mana. The deck can win in a number of ways, it can draw it's whole deck and use Laboratory Maniac to win, it can generate infinite mana with Vigean Graftmage and a creature that taps for 3 or more mana (Incubation Druid or Harabaz Druid) and the cast Sprout Swarm an infinite number of times to create infinite attackers then give them haste with Mass Hysteria or just kill people with massive mana dorks that have been pumped by Jeskai Ascendancy among other things. The deck does lack interaction due to it being a glass canon combo deck, but it is really sweet when it goes off. If this deck could use any card, it would be Paradox Engine because it is an easily tutorable card that does the job of Jeskai Ascendancy, but every card in the deck is budgeted to under $8. One thing to note is that once Zada dies, there is only one real way to get her back (Eternal Witness) so the deck is really built to be much better with Ink-Treader Nephilim at the helm. Wow, that felt like a serious essay. If you read all of that you are truly awesome. I am open to any suggestions from you on how to improve this deck.
