Recently I built a Dinosaur deck that had Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma as a major component. Afterwards I thought "would this also work with Dragons?". The quick answer is no. For the Dragon deck you do not want to be that heavy in green, especially when Stomping Ground is not in the format.

So instead I ended up building a Dragon deck, that is generally Jeskai, that follows the same premise as the dinosaur deck: ramp-sweep-drop bombs.

Ramp:
*the dragon deck ramps a little slower than does the dinosaur deck, however the ramp has additional functions.

a) Pillar of Origins.
*It is still just turn 2 ramp. No difference here.

b) Sarkhan, the Fireblood
the main upgrade between the two decks as Sarkhan serves a very good purpose outside of ramping. Card filtering or draw of any kind was a weakness in the dino build.
Sarkhan gets you to your top end dragons much quicker than the green ramp.

c) Dragon's Hoard
*drawing cards is a nice secondary feature of ramp.

The engine:

a) Sarkhan's Unsealing
it is maybe not as important in this deck, however if it sticks on the board at all it is just as game changing.
this deck runs just as many creatures that enable this effect as did the dino deck.
*Unsealing and Fireblood do play amazing together (almost if it were designed that way lol).

The Dragons:

a) Nicol Bolas, The Ravager
*it is a fantastic card on its own and is even better with all the synergies in this deck.

b) Verix Bladewing
*a big time upside card considering you will generate enough mana to kick this off a late game top deck.

c) Demanding Dragon
*best after you clear the board a bit, but as a big flyer to ramp into even if all they sacrifice is a Llanowar Elves.

d) Niv-Mizzet Parun
Niv doesn't protect itself very well for 6cmc, but you can't look at it that way in this deck. You are playing it for a lesser cost and it is a tool to draw cards. Also, it has great synergy with our ramps draw card effects.
Niv gets embarrassed by Chupacabra, but so does a ton of other cards in the meta.

e) Palladia-Mors, the Ruiner
*off color is easily fixed by ramp pieces and having hexproof until you want to use it is pretty sweet.

f) Lathliss, Dragon Queen
I'm pretty thrifty, I like free stuff.
This is probably the best Dragon to go into on turn 4.
the pump could definitely help finish off a game.
Sarkhan's Unsealing is a cast trigger, so no fun with the tokens.

g) Chromium, the Mutable
ticks off all the boxes in the power level chart. Great finisher, even if the flash does not work with Sarkhan Fireblood.
7 power makes it fantastic to play into Sarkhan's Unsealing.

Utility Cards:

a) Deafening Clarion
*the deck is slow and very weak against aggro. This makes up for a lot of that.

b) Response // Resurgence
*removal early, blowout late.

c) Spit Flame
removal that repeats is very nice.
a very strong card to pitch to Sarkhan Fireblood

d) Chart a Course
*the deck needs another turn 2 play. If the deck struggles to consistently make blue untapped on turn 2 then playing Tormenting Voice is an option, it is a downgrade but allows the deck to go much easier on blue mana.

The sideboard:

*Needs a lot of tweaking. My fear would be against aggro and control, which is why the sideboard leans heavily on answers for both. I like the chances of the deck in midrange matchups as the deck plays large flyers, which is always tough to handle.

Overall assessment:

*I'm not sure that you do not just play Grixis Dragons still. I built a deck similar to this a while back for Grixis and it did way more in the early turns. I like the idea of turning this build into a Grixis one that relies on Thought Erasure and Ritual of Soot to buy you time to stabilize into your bombs. Any sequence that looks something like: Thought Erasureinto Sarkhan Fireblood or Sarkhan into Ritual of Soot is probably a high percentage chance of winning that game in this meta.
