Looking to build the best Bo1 midrange decks for each three color pairing. My goal is to build balanced decks that are strong without the use of sideboards. This means the deck must: deal with enchantments, destroy creatures, have some form of mass removal, have aggressive and powerful creatures, protect its creatures, gain life, and draw cards. It is a big list, but I believe the best decks for B01 are either very linear fast decks or decks that can go over the top of those decks while also having answers for going wide or direct damage.

Why Mardu?
The creature choices provide some nice card draw, removal, life gain, and pure attack power.
The support cards have a nice range of options as well.

Sweeper

1) Deafening Clarion
*I'm always going to play Deafening Clarion if given the option as my sweeper. Sometimes you just need to reset the board while other times you can quickly get back in the game through gaining life.

Midrange Flyers

2) Lyra Dawnbringer
*not a lot of discussion needed.

3) Aurelia, Exemplar of Fury
agressive creature that is hard to remove.
great at helping build the decks other creatures.

4) Rekindling Phoenix
so hard to remove.
does not pass Clarion test, but a great card to follow it up with on curve.

5) Spawn of Mayhem
*often this is a 3cmc creature. This deck does not guarantee spectacle the way some other decks can, so some games it has to be cast for 4cmc (still strong even then).

6) Shalai Voice of Plenty
great defense for a creature heavy midrange deck.
survives Clarion
*a way to stabilize against burn.

2 & 3 cmc Creatures

6) Midnight Reaper
the opponent has to kill our creatures, this is a great defense against that.
lets us attack with less fear of consequences.

7) Adanto Vanguard
*such a pain for the opponent to try to kill.

8) Rix-Maadi Reveler
the card filtering is a nice fix to start games with.
drawing three in mid game situations is a big play for any midrange deck.

Utility Cards

Angrath, the Flame Chained
great for midrange battles to keep opponents card count down.
enables spectacle.
it is pseudo removal for smaller creatures.
stealing a creature for a turn is a wincon considering it takes away a blocker they will need and we already have a ton of power likely on the board.

Lava Coil
*best creature removal available.

Mortify
*our way of dealing with enchantments, while also being excellent creature removal.

Carnival // Carnage
Carnival kills many early game creatures.
Carnage is another powerful turn 4 play to put yourself ahead. Plays well with Angrath.

Overall Thoughts on the deck:

a) The deck is hard to put together on Arena, there are a ton of Mythics and rares in this deck.

b) Spectacle can be hard to trigger on turn three to cast Spawn of Mayhem.

c) The deck plays very powerful threats and has excellent answers.
