Simple deck with multiple nuances. We start out with a simple humans engine that runs off Metallic Mimic and Thalia's Lieutenant. We should have some nice sized creatures by the midgame.
The second part of the deck is the hatebear strategy. Harsh Mentor comes down and makes simple plays have a cost. Thalia slows our opponent down by a turn and makes blocking difficult for midrange, attacking slow against aggro, and control is always a turn behind. Reflector Mage takes care of whatever creature out classes our pumped up humans for long enough for us to finish things off.
The third part of the deck is the aggro burn strategy. Both one drops have prowess. This is great in the midgame when we start burning our opponent out. We're not playing enough burn that this is a burn deck, however it is a major source of our damage. A common situation after three turns for us will probably look like 4 or 5 combat damage, 3 or 4 self induced damage by Harsh Mentor and fetch lands. Now a few swings on turns 4 and 5 and our opponent should be in range of Stoke the Flames or Lighting Strike finishing them off.
Sideboard is pretty decent for an aggro deck. Mantis Rider comes in against all decks where Reflector Mage is weak. Selfless Spirit is our choice over Harsh Mentor in matchups where our opponent has strong removal. Chandra is good against decks that play low costing creatures that out class ours. Dispel can win games against midrange. Censor and Declaration are catch all's that deal with any midgame problems we will face. Smash punishes Vehicles. As far as dealing with things like Emrakul or other big nasty's we do not worry about that in the sideboard, we are simply going to race them.
We don't draw cards and we don't do well in board stalls often, however the deck is meant to be played pure aggro. The opponent is punished for playing spells and playing nonbasic lands just enough that our aggressive strategy can finish them off before a quality board presence can evolve.
