Eidolon of Rhetoric allows you to stay ahead if your ahead and stops combo decks from working. Figure of destiny and student of warfare are very good if the game happens to go late game or you have nothing else to do with your mana. Figure of destiny levels up into a flying creature your opponent may not be able to block. Precinct captain puts 1/1 tokens down to block for you and it has first strike so no one will block it early. Might leap and brave the elements are for those situations you need a boost in damage or you need to block something stronger than you or with flying. Basilisk collar and first strike also help with that. If something doesn't have first strike give it first strike with hope against hope. Hope against hope can also work well with precinct captain because you'll get buffed for each creature you control. Trailblazer's boots if your opponent runs big monsters that could out muscle your creatures or just to guarentee damage.
