Modern Lifegain deck

Two good opening hand cards would be Lone Rider and Inspiring Cleric. If you can play Lone Rider on turn 2 then play Inspiring Cleric on turn 3, you'll trigger his transform and then you'll have a 4/4 with first strike, trample, and lifelink. Which is a pretty sure deal to start gaining life. Not to mention a 4/4 with first strike will crush most low mana creatures, even something like Steel Leaf Champion

At this point if you draw another Lone Rider any strike from the first will trigger another transform. Or if you get a Rhox Faithmender it will double any life you gain with this deck then just about any card in this deck would trigger a transform.

I threw in Vampire Nighthawk and Gifted Aetherborn as deathtouch will give a little bit of removal, as well as Seal Away.

If your not drawing the cards you need Fumigate makes a great board reset and will only add to the lifegain.

Lyra Dawnbringer and Rhox Faithmender make a great combo. You'll be getting 10 life a strike.

Also, I threw in Chalice of Life , if you can get 10 above your starting total, you can just start tapping it to deal 5 damage to the opponent.

Sideboard is still a work in progress but I've got Athreos, God of Passage on the there for now. He doesn't have any sort of life gain but he's a 3 cost that fits with this color scheme and if your up against a removal deck this makes a good response to that. If you creatures are getting killed off and aren't getting a chance to get enough out to gain life then the opponent can either pay 3 life each time to keep it that way or you can get your creature back. Also threw in Proper Burial as that makes a great combination Athreos, God of Passage. Your gaining life no matter what when a creature dies and then your either still getting it back or there losing life.
