DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
It is all about repeatable combos. Izzet Guildmage is the head liner, as far as creatures go at least. Training grounds is very important for combos, as it allows Izzet Guildmage's abilities only cost 1 mana (CMC) and more. Used on Manamorphose it will give you profit in terms of mana, as well as a card. Simply play Manamorphose when both Training grounds and Izzet Guildmage(can be substituted by Nivix Guildmage) are on the battlefield. Then copy it with Izzet Guildmage's effect. Then allow the copy of Manamorphose to resolve, and copy the origional again. If you're opponent tries to counter Manamorphose or otherwise something undesirable (so long as it is counter-able), you will still be in good shape, so long as you have 1 blue mana spare. This of course allows for you to copy Manamorphose again (I say 'again' because you would have already copied it once do to how priority and resolution act in this moment.) and kick-start the process again. That or you can use Pact of Negation. You ARE going to win this turn, right? Pending on the creature in use(Izzet Guildmage or Nivix Guildmage), you may gain the number of cards you draw in mana, but always be able to bring all of the remaining cards in your library into your hand. This is the primary purpose of Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. To get a crap ton of mana while using Nivix Guildmage, just combo the draws you are getting from manamorphose with desperate ritual, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, and Nivix Guildmage's other ability for truly infinate mana and a perfectly cherry picked deck. Failing that indefinitely cast lightning bolts, or you can just play Laboratory Maniac and mill yourself with Desperate ritual and Manamorphose. There's a bit more to it, but that's the gist. Mana base could defiantly use improvement. Has cards with Transmute for search capability.
