To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
-Why Kaalia?
She is one of the strongest commanders avaiable, her color pie with her flavor is a strong combination to make your opponents sweat!
-Strategy Breakdown
A Kaalia strategy is just straight foward: Big attacking creatures for free. With her ability, we have access to the best creatures in magic, which I will look very next.
-Creatures
As and angel collector, I have some kind of love to them, so most of my deck is based on them. The very best angels are Avacyn, Angel of Hope; Aurelia; Gisela, Blade of the Goldnight and Iona. The other angels are purely because I love them, so you can change as you want.
The demons are the weakest part of Kaalia. With very few good options, I almost left them out of my build, but no Kaalia deck is real without Master of Cruelties. A stupid trigger and them instakill your opponent. Yeah, pretty good.
Dragons are very good because of their big boddies, and some of them have good abilities, like Balefire Dragon and Ryusei. Still, not many of them have a big impact like my Angels (I'm looking at you, Iona)
-Utility
The most flexible part of my deck. You have some free slots to put cards you like, but I recomend Amulet of Vigor mainboard. You often will suffer to aggro because you will tap your creatures out, so with this your big creatures enter untapped and can block! Insult is amazing because it doubles the damage (x4 with Gisela, YEAH) and you can discard with your card draws and still have Injury. Strionic because why not 2 big creatures at once?
-Haste and Protection
Kaalia is a giant target on the table and the main piece of your strategy, so you gotta protect her. Mother of Runes and Grand Abolisher are core protectors. The hasters are here because she will 99% never survive a turn, so cast and attack with this beauty!
-Reanimatos
I have a lot of discard, so sometimes you have the chance to use a single black mana to bring back a giant creature. Oh, with mass haste, you know...
-Mana Ramps
Yeah, no Sol Ring. Sorry. You can use it, but I just don't wanna switch shields with my Sisay deck. Ramp into a turn 3 Kaalia and we are happy.
-Removal
The 3 single best colors for removal. White, our main, gives you way to Path, Swords and mass removal. Black lets us use Anguished, Mercilless, Mortify, Terminate and Unmake. Red I almost not use it, but Terminate and Wear//Tear are amazing.
-Card Draw
No Demonic Tutor. Sorry. Not enough money. USE IT. But, black and red have a lot of draw/discard, going pretty well with our reanimatos. We don't wanna have few cards on hand.
-Land Base
Not the most expensive part of the deck, but the core of it. Sing in blood blood, Grand Abolisher and others are very mana restrict, so a good mana base is necessary. I will upgrade to all the 9 fetches that can fetch our collors, then add the Old duals. Basically all your expenses will become this lands. But, the 3 shocks and 3 fetchs are core.
