Zurgo Landsmasher (EDH / Commander)

Hello all! This is my Zurgo Helmsmasher aggro deck. In my experienxe there are two ways to make true aggro work in EDH; Damage doublers or land destruction. This deck uses the latter.

The main idea is to stick Zurgo or a similarly beefy beater as soon as possible and keep your opponents from answering them by removing their lands. Equipment helps with this, and having indestructible creatures means that full board wipes like Jokulhaups don't slow you down.

I want to be clear that this is a very socially divisive deck. Many people hate mass land destruction, even when you're using it appropriately. Like many other strategies make sure that your group is ok with it before you use it.

That being said Land Destruction is one of the greatest tools in the arsenal of both pure aggro decks and the color red in general. If others are allowed to soft ban mass land destruction I should be allowed to soft ban black tutors or blue counterspells. I don't use it in every deck, but people shouldn't be able to ramp out of control with no counter-strategy to give them pause.

This deck is a ton of fun and smashes all the helms, so I suggest giving it a try!
