I saw "Dragon's Approach", saw how it did 9 total damage, considered how effective it would be with a buffing creature like Fire Servant, but I decided on Guttersnipe for the lower casting cost. Each cast of Dragon's Approach with Guttersnipe is 1/6 your opponent's starting life.
As a mono-red burn deck running 37 copies of a spell (a tribute to the many black "37 rats" decks), it's a very simple deck. The biggest problem here is drawing aggro and running out of cards. I may try a "slow-burn" strat where I'll not draw people's ire immediately and try to stay at a full 7 cards until I can hammer them out. It's direct damage and I don't care if they get countered, so I see little risk in playing slow for a mono-red burn deck.
I looked for "common dragons', and the list is as meager as I remembered it was. Half of them are whelps, and the other half are limited as to obviously not wreck limited. I think the 5 dragons I've included are fine (you can even drop to 2-3 if you want, as you don't really want to see one in your hand or cast them normally).
Edit: I've updated the deck, added the new awesome Fang Dragon, as well as some other great new red card draw. Along with taking out a couple clunky inclusions, I think this deck will be much better now. I actually feel like we've got choices when it comes to our dragons. If we need an immediate 5 more damage, Lightning Shrieker. Otherwise? Fang Dragon. Already have it in hand? Tiamat's Fanatics. Almost have enough mana for another Dragon's Approach? Rapacious Dragon for 2 treasures.
