Aggro/Tempo deck based on exalted.
You'll be attacking with just one creature most of the time using the flying evasive properties of your creatures.
Control/Tempo wise you've got:
-4 Path to Exile to remove treats that made on the field, also usable to fetch the Forest if a Bird/Hierarch gets destroyed
-3 Spell Queller to counter spells (even if Queller gets focused down it's still a 2x1), can also be played via Collected Company for some surprise board+spell advantage.
Against some matchup (storm, jund) you can try to Path him right off the batch during the ETB to exile the spell forever and gain a land.
-3 Reflector Mage to remove eventual treats that bypassed Spell Queller and Path.
Can be used both offensively (removing blocking creature) or defensively (via Collected Company).
-4 Voice of Resurgence, to jam opponent removal during our turn.
It also eats Paths and spawn tokens along the way.
An all around solid creature.
-2 Judge's Familiar, sometimes you won't have a Hierarch or a Birds to dish out on T1.
Familiar comes into your aid replacing missing T1 drops and blocking T1 hand discard strategies.
Replaceable with Siren Stormtamer for more failsafe counter, albeit less general.
-2 Phantasmal Image, can be hardcasted for more exalted backup, to copy an opponent bigass creature, to remove another piece of board, or via Company to exile more spells.
-1 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy: after much testing, this proved to be the best card for the missing 1x CMC2 spot.
-Attack wise, you've got:
-3 Geist of Saint Traft, once the card hits the field he starts hitting like a blacksmith.
A 2/2 hexproof that creates a 4/4 flying token who synergize well with Noble Hierarch.
The bread and butter of the deck, can be played at turn 2 with the perfect hand (2 lands + 1 Hierarch/Birds) or via Collected Company.
-2 Vendilion Clique: a 3/1 flying with flash is always useful.
Useful for hand control, disrupting combos, or milling dead cards in our hand.
-1 Brimaz, King of Oreskos, similar to Geist, with less defenses vs spells but with a more solid body.
The Vigilance attribute is a nice addition, and the token army he can create goes hand in hand with Voice of Resurgence's token.
For the ramp, we've got:
-4 Noble Hierarch: the best turn 1 drop you can play.
During the first 1-2 turns she's gonna be under hard focus.
-2 Birds of Paradise: the underperfoming cousin of Noble Hierarch.
Can serve as an attacker with some exalted backup, or as a blocker during endgame.
-4 Collected Company: whatever you need, this card can provide it (with some luck).
Use it as a "counter" for opponent removal/creature: a well timed Spell Queller/Geist/Reflector Mage can turn the table in your favor and grant you an handful of turns.
Tamiyo is there to let you draw cards or freeze opponent's board.
She alone can keep a full board in check for ages.
The ultimate lets you basically play the deck for free.
Elspeth is mostly used for the pumping effect on your single attacking creature.
She can also create some blocking creatures in dire times.
Nissa, Steward of Elements lets you play all creature in the deck during T3 (T2 hardcast at 1 counter, Scry2, play creatures scried this way T3).
Ultimate is also easy to reach.
Land wise, after one year of test I switched the old mana base for a more aggressive one.
More fetches, less shock lands and a single copy of every basic land type.
This way one of the greatest weakness of the deck (Blood Moon) have been lifted greatly.
Celestial Colonade is a mana sinks for the lategame, when the board is enstabilished (1-2 Noble Hierarch, 1 Geist of Saint Traft, 1-2 Reflector Mage).
Gavony Township and Moorland Haunt are some utility land to use mana during lategame.
As for playing the deck, the first hand is extremely impactful on the turn 2-3 performance.
Mulligan if you get something lower than the average quality starting hand (examples below):
Perfect hand: 2 lands, 1-2 Noble Hierarch, 1 Geist of Saint Traft, Path to Exile, 1-2 Voice of Resurgence
Pretty good hand: 2 lands, 1-2 Noble Hierarch/Birds of Paradise, 1 Spell Queller, 1-2 Path to Exile, 1 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy, 1 Voice of Resurgence.
Good hand: 1-2 lands, 1-2 Noble Hierarch/Birds of Paradise, 1 Voice of Resurgence, Path to Exile
Average hand: 1-2 lands, 1 Voice of Resurgence, 1-2 Reflector Mage, 1-2 Path to Exile, 1 Geist of Saint Traft
If the starting hand is composed of 3 or more CMC 3 or higher, mulligan it.
