I really love Phylactery Lich, and wanted to build a deck around that card that I could actually take to an event and not be laughed out of the joint. This was the best I was able to come up with on the budget I was on.

The main objective of the deck is to make powerful attackers out of a variety of utility cards and beat the opponents by overwhelming them with a combination of threats and answers. Tezzeret offers a good alternate win condition if the Lich/ensoul plan fails. Hangarback Walker + Cranial Plating is another very good out in emergencies.

In my meta, it is really hard to get rid of the Lich (or other indestructible creatures) so in a lot of matchups, dropping a Pariah onto him or another indestructible creature can just prevent the opponent from ever doing damage again. Hangarback Walker is also a very good target for Pariah in a pinch. Otherwise, it can just go on an opponent's creature to stall the game.

The sideboard offers a pretty diverse selection of answers for different creature based strategies (yeah, I know I'm hosed against combo decks, but they're pretty weak in my community). The deck can pull out Hangerback Walkers and rapid Hybridizations to do funny things with tokens. Rapid Hybridization is actually hilariously good in this deck. You can pop your walkers, hit indestructible creatures, or just hit opponents best creatures knowing you can easily block a 3/3 with your numerous 5/5s. Prototype Portal is pretty bad, but against slower decks or control you can make a factory for control spells like Brittle Effigy or Tidehollow Sculler. The sculler is especially good if you can manage to land him on the portal. Naginata for helping you punch through against more defensive/go wide strategies, and Wrath because I can't afford Damnation, haha.

As for the maybeboard, I can't seem to make Citadels work, even testing Urborgs in the deck. Relics seem bad as well, and Flail is honestly just so much worse than cranial plating. I know Pithing Needle is good, but it's really not worth it right now in my extremely tribal deck heavy meta. I really want to make Copter work in this deck, but I can't really rely on having enough bodies to crew it. Maybe I could squeeze one in a sculler's spot. I've tried Worldslayer in the deck and although it is truly, truly, terrible, it is so funny I make sure to keep a copy nearby for casual or multiplayer matches with this deck.

Comments and advice are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
