8Rackdos (Modern)

A deck that I've always had a little love in my heart for is 8Rack. Back when I played Modern regularly it was not very often played but known to be a potent form of mono black control. Now that I'm getting back into the game I'm looking at what I've seen of current Modern and trying to bring the spirit of it back with the addition of a "I beat you to death" plan B.

And so, I present, 8Rackdos. Kroxa works as another discard spell (even if he's cmc2) that can be a powerful backup wincon. The deck used to run Lurus of the Dream Den before his banning, mostly as a way to gain incremental advantage and recast Kroxa from the grave for repeated discard similar to Raven's Crime without having to discard a land. But that condition was incredibly slow and rarely came up, it simply was win-more in grindier matchups so I think the deck stands on its own.

Dreadbore is a weird include and doesn't come up super often. The fact it's a sorcery is a little rough. But it answers Teferi in the scnearios where he shows up and sorcery-speed destroys creatures in others. Dakmor Salvage is from the earliest build of the deck and is very much considered to be on the chopping block, it helps with Raven's Crime but may be too slow.

I'll be trying to do some testing and messing around with this deck as I get chances to play it!
