This deck started as a tribal tribal voltron deck, but it quickly transformed into a counterspell tribal deck. It can lock the board down pretty quickly if it's left unchecked, and a lot people underestimate because they've never seen Mistform Ultimus before and can't believe it is a playable card. I've left some of the sillier tribal components in, because the deck can also one shot people pretty easily. That's why you still see Notorious Throng, Mutavault, Mishra's Factory, Swarmyard, Griffin Canyon, and a lot of the Lords. It's also able to generate tons of mana, draw tons of cards, and win with lab man. Intruder Alarm is a serious combo piece and does amazing work when paired with Cryptic Gateway. It doesn't run a lot of counterspells from the hand, but there is a ton of counterspell synergy on the board and it can easily lock other players out. Lullmage Mentor and Intruder Alarm is a hard lock.
All in all it's a really fun deck to pilot and it wins a majority of the games it plays. It's a resilient little bugger.
