This is a grindy budget-friendly midrange deck with all of my favorite friends!

The gameplan is to remove the main threats either before they get played or before they can take over the battlefield, playing efficient creatures that two-for-one the opponent, and having some finishers to take over the game somewhere in the mid- to lategame. It is a very grindy deck, with 6 artifact-cantrips and 4 creature-cantrips, and lots of ways to generate card advantage or prolong the game with removal and lifegain. It is one of the few decks that I know in Modern that has at least one answer to everything maindeck but is NOT a control deck at its heart.

The deck will have difficulty against counterspell-heavy blue decks able to outdraw it and against very fast aggro, but should be good against combo and midrange decks, as well as against anything relying heavily on specific cards and/or the graveyard. Even against aggro, the tokens and the disruption can really win games (played this against Legacy Goblins, and won two games in a row).

A breakdown of the cards:

Hand disruption:

  • Thoughtseize is simply the best card here
  • Inquisition of Kozilek to have two more cards for turn 1
  • Thought-Knot Seer follows this gameplan up in turn 4 (or three, with one of the Eldrazi Temple). It is a great card, and gets even better if it is a continuation of hand disruption before, as it is probable that at this point, the opponent will need to topdeck to deal with it

2for1 Creatures/Eldrazi

  • Wasteland Strangler is underwhelming without its ETB ability, but very effective with. If under aggro attack, it can also create some breathing room to come up with lifelink (through Shambling Vents or Kalitas)
  • Thought-Knot Seer is ... well, Thought-Knot Seer
  • Matter Reshaper has a 38/60 chance of replacing himself directly on the battlefield, and at least thins out the deck (if he does not get Pathed)
  • Reality Smasher is a great finisher, specially when the opponent is topdecking. I had Blight Herder in this spot before, but found it lacking in power to close out games. With more token synergies (Sorin, Solemn Visitor and the like), it would probably be the better card, but it slows down the lategame a lot

I am trying one Sorin instead of a Kalitas just to see if it is better

The manabase could be even better with more Marsh Flats and 1-2 Cavern of Souls, but that just makes it so much more expensive ...

Oh, and btw: just saw yesterday the first B/W Eldrazi deck (non Death and Taxes) in the MTGGoldfish metagame list: http://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/modern-w-b-eldrazi-26607#paper

I also quite like this build:
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/look-ma-no-eyes-with-primer-1/
It has some ramp in it, so effectively plays 26 lands, and goes for 7 CMC5 creatures. If I were to drop the Tidehollow Scullers, this is probably the alternative build I would go for
