$11 - simple cards, nothing fancy just quick combat
5 mana - hit land drops for the first 5 turns
Death Punch: boost a single creature to lethal damage quickly, hopefully also with some kind of evasion/trample.
By focusing so narrowly, I hope to ensure the right mix of cards without tutors. The plan is to be at turn 3 with either Shu Yun, Stormchaser Mage, or Spellheart Chimera on the battlefield. After that, t4 or t5, apply sorceries and instants to buff while getting prowess (or close) bonus on any of those three creatures as well as evade, double strike with shu yun, flying trample with chimera - and hit opponent directly for as close to lethal as possible.
Young Pyromancer is there to make chumps and be an emergency back up body to be a target for a handful of buff spells. Faithless looting seems like a good way to ensure a timely shu yun or the necessary 2nd red buff spell, as well as address both mana screw and flood; if I have to toss an instant or sorcery, it will help power the chimera.
There may be a lot of room to play with in making mana base better. Cycling lands, evolving wilds, something to thin out deck as this build wants to maximize chances at getting 5 lands by t5 so it wants lots of lands in the deck, and it doesn't need more after five or six mana other than very minor mana fixing.
Shu Yun is popular in edh for this little trick; I wanted to see if it would port to casual constructed. Who is expecting this? (Very definitely a 1v1 deck only, would be terrible in multiplayer).
23 lands seems like a lot for a deck witha 1.68 curve - but the math and goldfishing say its just right to hit 5 lands very, very consistantly for turn 5 action. It could be made a little more consistent with some cheap nonbasics, but they would etb tapped or filter, which would slow down the plan for turn 5.
