AKH mono black Zombie Budget 07/2017 (Standard)

As a n00b, I wanted a deck that was easier get a feel for... so, mono black. I decided to always go second (on the draw) and not sweat about taking a mulligan with the idea I wanted to have 5 swamps on the field by turn 5 or 6 most of the time, and 3 swamps by turn three essentially all the time. So, I was looking for a starting hand with ideally three swamps and a couple of creatures and without multiple copies of Mastery and Hailfire. Using the "Starting Hand" feature I would get a new hand, decide to mulligan or not, and then add five cards to learn how the deck was likely to play over the first five turns.

With the sideboard, I was looking to typically be swapping out about on 5 average non-creatures.

I played 3 matches, going 1-2 against green pummeler, 1-2 against a Jace deck, and 0-2 (one loss very close) against black green (couple hundred dollar deck). So, not bad. Goal is to keep it close and occasionally win one.
