Rakdos, Lord of Riots (EDH / Commander)

Big Beats. When it swings, it usually swings for the fences. There are a few gnarly combos to end the game with. For example, Heartless Hidetsugu and Maga, Traitor to Mortals, Neheb, the Eternal and Aggravated Assault, Master of Cruelties and Wound Reflection, Blightsteel Colossus and Chandra's Ignition. The mana base is pretty expensive, but you can cheapen it up a bit. (You obviously do not NEED a Badlands or a Cabal Coffers.) If you are trying to build something like this on a budget, the land base is where you want to reduce the cost. (Though obviously the deck with also function just fine without an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon so use your best judgement.) There are a number of other ways to reduce the cost as well. Swapping in a Warstorm Surge for the Terror of the Peaks for instance or flat out removing the Fiery Emancipation for other utility. You can also get cheaper mana rocks as well. As a note on that front, I think Cryptolith Fragment // Aurora of Emrakul is a seriously slept on card for this deck, and it has the added benefit of being cheap. The one place I wouldn't recommend going cheap is the Cavern of Souls, especially if there is any blue in your play group. Getting Rakdos, Lord of Riots out and keeping Him out will be a struggle once people learn how the deck plays.

Side board includes additional ping enablers, some utility, anti-control, and a couple planeswalkers to help end games more quickly. The most frequent board swap will be pulling out your Vedalken Orrery for either the Price of Glory or the War's Toll.

Try it out in your playgroup. You won't win every time, but when you do, it is usually a big win, and satisfying.
