Hey there, Splashy here with another casual EDH Deck list.
The challenge I gave myself this time was to make Sidar Kondo Of Jamuraa work with literally anything possible.
And after deciding, that I wanted to play Abzan, Tymna the Weaver was an obvious choice to go for.
But first of, my all-time famous “Should I play this deck or naw?”
You should play this deck if:
you don’t mind playing some stax elements in form of creatures
you like the idea of partner commanders
you like having tons of creatures on the board
don’t mind losing to a board wipe
You should not play this deck, if:
you don’t like a little stax (you could change cards, but hell naw)
you don’t like creature based decks
Abzan is not a color choice that you like
literally anything that might oppose your playstyle, bla bla
// Deck-Idea / basic strategy //
The basic idea behind this deck is to ramp out a lot of smaller creatures, which, while drawing you cards like crazy with the ability of Tymna the Weaver and the combat protection of Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa, also (at least some of them) bring control aspects with them, like having to pay more for spells, opponents stuff coming into play tapped, and so forth.
While this kinda eats away your opponents life at a rather slow rate, you will be the target for any kind of hate, given that you want to attack all opponents at the same time for the Tymna to kick in, as well as playing stax so that people might be triggered by your board anyways.
Since we play green, the obvious win condition with a creature based deck is Craterhoof Behemoth, which I find to be rather boring, but after play testing, I realized, that he is just too good to pass by. I am currently searching/trying out new ways to close the game, but currently, this is what is the easiest. Cards like Tooth and Nail as well as Avenger of Zendikar help a ton to progress this strategy in the mid/late game.
I really like this deck, it draws a sh*tton of cards, and since your creatures CMC is so low, after ramping once or twice, you will never run out of steam, given that you can protect you board from AoE’s with cards like Avacyn, Archangel of Hope.
// Budget - Options //
The main reason for this deck being ‘’expensive’’ is the land base. Gaea’s Cradle as well as the three duals are somewhat expensive, same goes for the fetch lands. If you don’t have these cards, opt for filter lands, tango lands or other mana fix you have at your leisure.
