Workshop 359 - Oloro, Ageless Ascetic / benspants - CLOSED (EDH / Commander)

GENERAL:
We noticed that the deck was very balanced to begin with. We added/polished some of the ramp and added some draw spells that are synergistic with the rest of the deck. We also noticed the lack of true wipes so we added a couple. A card to consider as a later upgrade: Ajani, Strength of the Pride.

ADDITIONS:
Talismans cause life loss which the deck can easily deal with but they're also good early ramp and mana fixing so we added those. Diabolic Tutor for finding the combo pieces more effectively. Painful Truths and Ad Nauseam add some life loss but are really powerful draw spells. Spirit Link can be slapped on an opponent's creature to gain more life that way. Sunbond is a cool outlet for gaining life; Sunbond makes a single creature really big really quickly - especially ones that have lifelink on their own already.

CUTS:
We realised that the mana base probably cannot support mono black ramp (Magus of the Coffers, Crypt Ghast, Bubbling Muck) so we let those go. Chalice of Life and Survival Cache gain some life but not quite enough to warrant being in this deck. Underworld Connections was a very slow form of draw especially with no untapping synergies in the deck. Enduring Angel is a little clunky for what it does and triggering it to transform in a life gain deck could prove to be difficult. Serra Avatar was a big beater with no evasion or protection. Finally Counterspell is virtually impossible to cast in this deck.
