Philosophy and strategy

• Marchesa is a commander for the long run. I like to bring it at tables where I do not know the players as it is takes its time to setup with a moderate power level.
• Use +1/+1 counters to buff and protect your creature, do damage with recursive creatures.
• As recursive, you can have value by sacrifices (aristocrats) them
• With the commander out and a sac outlet you can steal your opponents creatures.

Beginning of the game

• Ramp through rocks, artifacts, cost reducers
• Use your life as a resource to speed up your gameplay.
• Use a bit of politics for the small creatures to come through in exchange of some service later in the game.

Get the Commander out

• Use commander ability to put +1/+1 counters on your creatures to protect them.
• Swing your creatures, all of them, it is not a big deal if you get some damages (thing about deathrone)
• Sacrifice your creatures for symmetric effects (and bring them back) or keep attacking with no shame.
• YSteal creatures from your opponents and attack with them to get the +1/+1 counter before sacrificing and keep it for good.

The list does have a couple of finishers like Insurrection, Torment of Hailfire, Grave Betrayal + any wrath, infinite combos.

Infinite Combos

• Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Zealous Conscripts: With both cards on the battlefield. Tap Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, targeting Zealous Conscripts, to create a copy of Zealous Conscripts. When the copy of Zealous Conscripts enters the battlefield, gain control of Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker to untap him. Repeat the last 2 steps, creating infinite Zealous Conscripts to attack with.

• Mikaeus, the Unhallowed +Triskelion : With both cards on the battlefield. Remove all but one +1/+1 counters from Triskelion to deal that much damage to target opponent. Remove the last +1/+1 counter to deal the last point of damage to Triskelion, killing it. Triskelion undies. Repeat previous 2 for infinite damage.
