not bad the idea....but till turn 4 you do nothing....they can do things till turn 3 and maybe in turn 4 now u have maralen out and its their turn they can search something to get out maralen and you are dead

First thing i'd search for is removal ,  if Ob came out I'd lose 10 life once.

What about exile removal, of which there is loads in EDH.

Indestructible just means destroy effects cannot destroy it. Sacrifice effects and going to 0 Toughness affect the creature as usual- it goes to the graveyard

If you wanted to spend another 20-30 dollars, Opposition Agent would be the next best card to add to this.
Also swiftfoot boots might be the next protection card to add.
