I suggest Volcanic Fallout because it deal 3 to everything and everybody is Instant CMC 3 and can't be counter

Volcanic Fallout does 2 as opposed to 3. But it is definitely an option worth considering. I'm using slagstorm because: 1) I have them; 2) T3 creatures are much more common in our playgroup and 3) I'm the only one in the playgroup who ever really plays counterspells. But in a different setting Volcanic Fallout would be the superior option. Thank you for the suggestion.
