Do you really need Maelstrom Nexus when you already have plenty of spells with cascade?

If you cast a spell with cascade and Maelstrom Nexus is on the field, you'll actually get two triggers of Cascade.  I think that's what OP is going for

Does anybody have any sideboard suggestions? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I'm wondering if you could get Bring to Light to work in the deck?  Since you're running 5 colors, Bring to Light could help you get out some of the more useful creatures.
