Beating Shuffle Hulk

They have 2 shuffle effects with Gaea's Blessing so they can mill to a shuffle in response to hate

It seems like the two opportune moments to respond are when either Flash/Protean Hulk's death trigger are on the stack, or when Kozilek is about to reshuffle the deck. I would really like to respond at that moment, but Memory's Journey messes with that.

Damn.. this problem is making me headache.  Everytime I think I've got something, I notice that it doesn't work.

You would have to deal with Kozilek AND have a counter for Memory's Journey.

Hmm.. we would need an alternate Mindcrank. life loss on mill in stead mill on life loss.

/edit: Bloodchief Ascension could do the job, but you would have to get 3 counters on it before the combo starts, which should be a big drawback.

Damn, I forgot about Gaea's Blessing. Why did Paradox Engine have to be the one to get banned?

Before Flash Hulk

After Flash Hulk

Extirpate the Narcomoeba
Sudden Shock/Sudden Death on any of the creatures.

With this in mind, I think that Anafenza, the Foremost is a strong commander to fight Shuffle Hulk. Being in green, and grave-hate herself means that I can consistently get her out on turn 2. I can also use the Boonweaver Giant combo and (ironically) Protean Hulk combo to win.

Err.. are you sure with Hushwing Gryff? the way you explained the combo, there are only LTB trigger.

Before hulk, Cursed Totem and its little brother Damping Matrix would work.

Damn, not Hushwing. I was thinking of something else, that is unfortunately irrelevant for this fast a combo (it was Angel of Jubilation).

Phyrexian Revoker and Sorcerous Spyglass would be backups for the needle.

Hmm.. like Soren already said, this won't help. But playing Blood Artist yourself could potentially slow down the combo. If someone else got a Blood Artist out, the Hulk player would target him first, but would get the same damage as backfire, which would result in the shuffle hulk and the other Blood Artist player out.
Since this is a less desirable outcome, it could buy a turn or 2 until the second Blood Artist gets removed.

Seems like we missed one of the most obvious cards (that also got a reprint recently)... 

Anyway, we've collected some stuff that works against shuffle hulk, I'll hope it helps.
