for maximum damage, instead of brute force you could use assault strobe. the downside is that it is a sorcery and cannot be used defensively.

You could also cut 2x Brute Force and 1x Thud for 3x Mutagenic Growth, just to play them if you have no more mana sources in that moment.

Is sorcery speed on Thud a liability? Would Fling be better for shock/bolt protection?
