Seems solid. Good downside in exchange for black gaining access to removal it doesn't usually have access to.

Anybody else really liking the spoilers so far? I love all these creatures that benefit from specific mechanics/tribes. I love how they are creating relevant commanders for each tribe of the party, although that's probably just because I'm a sucker for tribal stuff.

For the commander decks that come out with Zendikar Rising, do we know if their commanders will be included in the base set (basically, could it be any of the cards we're seeing right now)? I get the feeling not.

I would think the commanders would be exclusive to the Commander decks. This was the case with decks the C20 decks that were released with Ikoria.

ETA- Yea, I'm liking the spoilers. I wasn't sure there would be a lot in this set for me since generally I look through the cards as either something to go in an existing deck or a commander that excites me enough to build around it. So far there's a few cards I'm curious to try.

There was a spoiler (or a leak) for the packaging material. The commander decks are going to be "Land's Wrath" in Naya colours and "Sneak Attack" in Dimir. No confirmation of who the commanders are, but the packaging indicates Anowon for Dimir and a new Goblin Elemental for Naya.

I've been testing a bunch of different lands decks but haven't had any luck so far. Fingers crossed that the precon appeals to me!

I just want to add that Alesha is being blessed today.
Angel of Destiny, Skyclave Apparition, and Archon of Emeria (and the lands are ofc nice) are ridiculously good, and we don't even have the full set yet.

Not sure how Yasharn would work as a commander. I think she would be better as a stax piece in the 99 of a deck like Paradox Sisay... if that still existed. *Single tear*

Yasharn does a number on fetchlands, but the highish mana cost means people can just play the fetch lands ahead of time. Stopping Aetherflux Reservoir puts a slight crimp on storm decks. Korvold Food Chain loses it's outlet.

What's your plan for Yasharn?

Well I'm gonna be honest I'm out of the loop but I'm assuming with Flash and Paradox gone that decks like Blood Pod and such are pretty rampant, and this shuts down pretty much all sources of value in stax decks tbh, not to mention other combo decks as well

I've been out of it a bit too. No one to play cEDH with during the pandemic, and I hate camera play. The meta is a lot more diverse since Flash got banned. Who would have guessed?

From what I can tell, Consultation Oracle is big because it's an easy combo to set up. There are a lot of Opus Thief variants, mostly just with different commanders. Kenrith Evolution (control deck that uses Seedborn Muse) is making the rounds as the dominant Kenrith deck. Food Chain decks are still kicking, with Cazur+Ukkima replacing Sidisi Layered Combo now that Flash is gone.

And storm. Lots of storm variants.

Regardless of the actual meta, it's still a viable brew if you happen to encounter those decks or just if the meta shifts so I shall continue with my idea

I don't know who enters the new cards in the preview section, but props for "Get Monch'd" and "Slurp Slurp Gulp", that's on point

Welcome to this set's "goes infinite with Basalt Monolith". I'm sure colourless Eldrazi commander players will appreciate this. Wastes is now the new Ancient Tomb.
