Cheating in artifacts with Transmutation Font

Transmutation Font

I have never built an edh deck specifically in the artifact meta as I always felt it was too easy / too good for the groups I usually play with.  But since WotC keeps making ridiculously OP cards, I'm feeling like "why not, time to lean into it".

What are some artifacts that are totally game changing that you can cheat into play with Transmutation Font?  Blightsteel Colossus seems like an easy choice, what are some others to think about getting?

I think Blighsteel is a bit overrated, unless you have a combo to give it haste and immediately kill at least one opponent.

Other big dumb artifacts you might be interested in are Portal to Phyrexia, Darksteel Monolith, Mycosynth Golem, Darksteel Forge.

I would agree with EMaxxi. Darksteel Forge seems to be the most useful blanket answer as you're almost assuredly playing an artifact deck to run this. I also agree that Blightsteel is a little overrated. If you don't have a way to give it haste and a way to hit multiple opponents with it in the same turn it's just asking to be bounced or exiled.

I really like Bolas's Citadel. It's a very powerful artifact.

With the font in particular, it actually makes Blightsteel Colossus a lot better IMO, even without haste.  If someone does anything except exile it, it goes back to the library where I just use the font again to bring it right back down.  If someone does exile, hopefully I have a sac outlet or my own removal I can kill it with in response, to get it back into library to use the font ASAP.  It essentially becomes a way to get my opponents to "waste" their removal.  I feel like it's also a political tool to make deals with someone who is a threat to me, agree not to swing the Colossus at them next turn IF...

While Darksteel Forge is a fantastic value piece, I was trying to find things are huge threats immediately that need to be answered or I win, a la Colossus. Portal to Phyrexia is probably a good bet in most games there should be good things to grab from graveyards.

This is the first draft of the deck I quickly threw together, lots of different named artifact tokens to reliably pitch to the font, and about 10 ways to tutor for the font on top of just straight card draw into it.  Not sure how well it would play at all, but this is sort of the initial idea not tuned at all

Darn, I was hoping you would pick something with black so you could do the Bolas's Citadel, Aetherflux Reservoir combo.

If you are going full on cheese I would build something with a lot of things that can search the transmutation font and a few things that investigate and make treasure tokens.  Once I had the font I would use it to grab Academy Manufactor to make sure you can easily get 3 different tokens.  then Rings of Brighthearth to double the next search.  Then Basalt Monolith and the Staff of Domination to produce infinite colorless mana and draw your deck.  Any number of things could just win you the game at that point.

Throw in an untap effect like Clock of Omens and you can do all that in the same turn

What's funny is that as I was looking for cards to add in order to tutor up the Font, I came upon Kuldotha Forgemaster and realized it is just strictly better, albeit maybe less sticky.

At 5 toughness it is more likely to be destroyed by artifact removal anyway, so I would say the difference it stickiness is negligible.  If I was building a deck around the effect I would play both for redundancy.  I would maybe have Arcum Dagsson in the deck, and he can search the font but not the forgemaster.
