Deck Reviews / [Modern] Zombie Hunt

Zombie Hunt

Description
I figured this is about the most budget build that might be a Modern-viable rogue deck.

It's absolutely hilarious, anyway.

HOW TO PLAY THIS JANK

Ideal hands have 1 Reliquary Tower and Treasure Hunt. You can mulligan down pretty far to at least get a Treasure Hunt.

Cast Treasure Hunt until you get to a Zombie Infestation. Discard 12-20 lands. Swing Zombies to victory.

Reliquary Tower is important to avoiding board wipes. It lets you drop your massive horde at the end of your opponent's turn, and then you win.

Isak:
Th text above was copy paste only, and I have nothing to do with building this deck. I nearly merged them a bit, and would like people to come with improvements, this is supposed to be a fun budget deck.

All props to those who did:)

I found this e decks at:

-http://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/budget-magic-18-0-5-tix-modern-zombie-hunt and:

Two slightly different versions.
I'm real interested in trying this out,
I want something that doesn't cost a lot of money, just something to haw fun with the few times I go to FNM, or with the students that meet up once a week.

I already haw a fearful amount of cards, with would be great if someone of my friends enjoyed the game (I wold give them half), Qube draft sessions or something like that.
So I want to order a couple fearly Competitive decks online, I'm tired of buying boosters.

(I absolutely love prerelease thow)

I play a lot Magic Origine and I have tried MTGO a while back (need to try it again soon), but I don't haw good enough synergy in my paper cards to play modern or standard.

I have to say, at he Origin prerelease I did do quite well by my standards, (1win, 1 draw and 1 win by counseal, and it was my first prerelease).
I'm fucking happy with that. And it`s funny when people don't get the cards they want, play one mach and then ragequit: P

But enoff of that, I want to buy a couple of decks, so I haw a little diversity.
This deck seems interesting, win or lose in 4 turns basically.

-I was wondering if there is a fechland I can replace "Creeping Tar Pit" with?
I live in Norway, and can get the deck for 16 euros (including shiping), if I drop the "Creaping Tar pit" and maby replace them with "Dismal Backwater" (wich I dont want)
Almost 110 euro with them.

-SO IS THER ANNYTHING I CAN REPLACE "CRAPING TAR PIT WITH"?

-I want all criticism I can get, going to order it in a few days and could use all the help you guys are willing to give me.

-If you have any other suggestions I would appreciate it, I'm going to order a couple of decks like this and maybe a good competitive Modern deck.

Don't want to use more than a 120$ right now, but I guess it would give me maybe 2 funn decks and one good one.

Okay: I can see that.
But which of them is more competitive?
I can get creatures from most of my lands. The only tricks you got is Elexire of Immortality, and I can't see what's it good for (especially since you only got one).

I'm only looking for things to improve the deck before I order. (I have seen at least 5 different versions, I want to optimize).
Do you haw anything constructive to come with? I honestly feel your deck is a bit weaker than mine. Please say your opinion:)
And I'm no experienced player, I started for about a year ago and have only played the press-release, so I know it's a lot of things I don't understand yet :)

I had my local "second hand shop" call me if they got in any Magic cards. And today they had about 50 6`th edition cards + about 40 lands. And "Play Guide" and "Rule Book" in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish. Nothing special about the cards, but is there some value in the booklet, or is the world overflowing with them?

Just wondering if I may be able to exchange them for some cards, if it would be something collectors would be interested in?
Like I say, they haw newer bin folded, the Norwegian one is on 32 and 64 pages each.
I payed 6$ for it, and the land cards look nice in my deck, so I'm happy with that :)

EDIT2: I found the last card, so now I haw 80 cards, 2x 40, Magic the Gathering Classic Sixth Edition Two Players Starter Deck (Advanced)
Are there any card indexes or something that I can check which card that goes into which deck?

EDIT3: Ended up with just replacing some land cards to the older edition, and used the rest as back for a proxy deck I printed out.

That was exactly what I meant :P Sorry, maybe I`m bad at explaining myself.
But thanks :)

I really like the response time on this forum, its always someone on and helping, almost make me feel bad for watching a movie while I wait for response :P

Okay, thanks.
So if someone attacks me, I put Touch of Moonglove on Coral Barrier, block, and kill the creature.
Or I could put it on one of the Squid Token`s.
Great :)

General Magic / Can I play Tuch of Moonglove on a Coral Barrier?
« on: July 24, 2015, 04:28:40 pm »
On the Coral Barrier it says "Defender (This creature can't attack.)". Can I still put a Tuch of Moonglove on it and attack? Or can I only use it as a defender with deathtouch?

Ok, thanks for the answer.
Just thought the opponent would lose 16 cards (for each Read the Bones) since I draw 2 cards, but I understand its function as one trigger, times 4=8.
Going to remove the Sphinx's Tutelage for something I need more I think.

8
So lets say I haw 2 Sphinx's Tutelage in play. I start my round and draw 1 card, the opponent has to put the top 2 cards in his graveyard, 2 times, right?

Then I play a Read the Bones, that lets me scry, then draw two cards, does that player need to put the top two cards in his graveyard, 4 times? (2x Sphinx's Tutelage + I draw 2 cards = opponent put 2 cards in graweyard 4 times)?

Like it says, quote card "Whenever you draw a card, target opponent puts the top two cards of his or her library into his or her graveyard."
Whenever is anytime isn't it?

And Read the Bones lets me draw 1 card two times, or 2 cards one time. I'm not sure how to look at it.

That seams crasy, lats say I had 4 Sphinx's Tutelage in play, and played 2 Read the Bones,
the oponent wold loose 8 cards pr. card I draw,
2x Read the Bones = I draw 4 cards, 4x8=32
The opponent would loose half his deck in one round.

General Magic / Re: Thoughts about different decks?
« on: July 22, 2015, 09:13:35 pm »
I`m quite new to the game, but I like to build my own decks. Most because it's my own creation, not something someone else put together. And also if you haw a lot of cards you can make many different decks, shuffle em up and make new ones. You can draft from your cards and make sealed decks if you got friends that play.

10
I'm not building a mill deck, it's just something extra, but I would love to have 4x Profane Memento, 4x Sphinx's Tutelage and 4x Wall of Limbs or something.

This is the deck I`m bidding on http://deckstats.net/forum/index.php?topic=10823.msg23834#msg23834, its bin changed a lot over the last weeks, I can probably remove the combo section for something better, it used to haw more stuff but its bin changed for better cards.
But I don't think it's too bad?

11
Thanks a lot. I`m definitely going to take a look at your deck darkbannister :) it was a guy who millèd me on prerelease with this card, so now I have 2 of them as an extra feature. It is going to run great with Profane Memento, if I get it into play, I only got one of those.

12
Hello everyone.
Can I haw two Sphinx's Tutelage in play at the same time? So Every time I draw a card they haw to discard 4 cards.

Hello :)
I was wondering if it was possible to make a mobile app, that scans your paper cards, put them in a deck and make it possible to play online with your own cards against other players (the "Deck Builder" has a feature that scans your cards).

I know you can play on MTG-online, but then you haw to buy the cards, so if I would like to test my new deck online, I would have to purchase all the cards, wasting money on something I just want to test out.
Friday night Magic is only once a week and still no of my friends to play, so I think this is a great idea.

The only problem is that the scanner has to be INSANE good, it can't be possible to print out cards on paper and then scan them.
You should only be able to play your real-in-life-papercard`s.
I don't know if it's possible to make such a scanner, maby Wizards haw to do some adjustment to the cards or something.
Anyway, I guess Wizards would have to approve or create the app themselves, copyright and stuff.

Are there any programmers out there, is this possible?

I was at my first pre-release, sealed deck "tournament". 6 rounds, each round best of 3.

ROUNDS:
4 rounds I lost
1 draw
1 win by forfeit

GAMES TOTAL:
9 games lost
1 game I won
1 draw

It was much easier than I would imagine, no one who got angry, I remembered to tap the lands (most of the time). And the other guys explained the cards very well if I was wondering about something.
I notice a huge improvement from my first to my 11`t mach, I`m still not any good at building sealed decks, but the tempo is there :)

It was a couple of guys who left, they lost a match, got angry at the bad cards and just rage quit.
I think it was bad that I won by forfeit that one time, I would rather lose 2 times than not to play at all. But all in all, I think I`m ready to teach it to my friends.

I did some stupid mistakes like activating Deathtuch on Fetid Imp, than not to attack, (in case he would attack my Imp, I could block it and kill it even if he has a 4/4 creature) while instead I should have waited to see if he was going to attack me, and then activate Deathtuch.
So I learned something :)

And I had a great moment when I used Unholy Hunger to remove his biggest bomb and then playing Necromantic Summons (Put target creature from a graweyard onto the batlefield under your control) to get control over the bomb and smashing him with his own creature. I won the match with his Bomb :D
In the next match I played Necromantic Summons to get Turn to Frog (which he had just used on me) then putting it on his Bomb and destroying it with a 1/1 creature. Those two moments were worth the entry fee alone :P

I almost didn't go, I woke up 20min before it started, so I was lying in bed, like, ahem, OK, let's do this. Jumped in the shower, out in the street and rode my skateboard like a maniac to reach the store. I`m so fu***** glad I did it :)

Manny of the marches was pretty even, and some people just smashed me before I could damage them at all, I got Mona screwed a couple of times, when the match was finished and I had like 3-4 lands in plays total (he had let say, 8+), and I look at the top of my deck and its like 10 Lands after another :P

I think I`m going tomorrow also.

I`w only played on the computer and fiddling with the cards to get a decent deck, here is a post with my current "Casual"l deck if anyone is interested, it might show which level I`m on.

EDIT: Secound prerelease

1`t round I won
4 round`s I lost
and the 6`t round I won by forfeit

EDIT: Now they have removed the score from Sunday, I had 16 points yesterday, but only 7 now. I just realised I could see my rank. On Saturday I was nr. 42 out of 55.
But now I can't see my placement for the second day, which I hope is a nudge bether.
I`w sent Wizards and the store I played in an email, reporting the problem, so I just hope they`r able to fix it.

Anny of you lost your points?

Deck Reviews / Re: Deck 3 v1.0.6 Please tell me my wrongs.
« on: July 09, 2015, 03:15:06 pm »
Thanks for the reply.
But I do like the feeling of opening a fresh booster :P I probably would get tired of the junk cards after buying a 100 booster`s or so, but that wont break the bank, and I will get tired before that.
It's just at the start, until I get in the game more and get better at deck building. I`m just not good enough at deck building to other singles, and I don't want to copy of a killer deck and order the cards online, I need to learn more.
And I really wanted to open a booster with a Mythical, and I got 3 in a row.

And I want a bunch of semi junk cards I can give away to friends, if I get them to play.
I`m going to give them some really nice decks if they get hooked :)

I copied this post to another forum, and two people actually took the time to put together deck`s from my cards, six in total.
So I`m going to put together one in a minute and play it against my own creation.
