Deck Reviews / Creeping Death

I've been playing this archetype since the 90's. Obviously it doesn't look anything like it did back then but it's still my favorite archetype to play because it's so interactive and draws the game out enough to get a back and forth going.

Streamlining advice is welcome.

Brutal honesty: You forgot the deck.

Ooof, lol. Sorry about that. And thank you Elan for covering for my brain fart.

One suggestion if it's an option, replace the Bloodbond Vampire with Bloodthirsty Aerialist. It does the same thing but for a mana cheaper and has flying.

I don't think you're coming off as rude at all, this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for the feedback.

A bit more context would be great. What are you aiming for? What is your game plan? If your game plan is to turn one evoke Grief and give it undying, there is an actual top tier modern deck right now that does this called Rakdos Scam. So what differentiates your deck from Scam? Are you wanting to brew budget Scam? Or are you conciously trying to do something different? What are the advantages and disadvantages of your approach?

The main point of the deck is a turn 3 Liege of the Tangle with undying and haste leading to 3 8/8 lands and the Liege ready to attack by turn 4. The Grief and the Fury were suggestions from another poster that buy me time with a strong opening if I can't get the Liege out early. I can either evoke them or cheat them out with the Incandescent Soulstoke.

I’m by no means an expert in modern, but Grief and Fury would be great. They can be tutored with Flamekin and then made undying with evoke trigger on the stack. Also fetchlands are important. Maybe take out the Assault Strobe and Thud effects?

You could also trade village rites for diabolic intent. Hopefully budget isn’t a constraint because the cards I listed are pretty expensive.

This was extremely helpful and I think the deck looks a lot better now. Thank you for the feedback.

I would try and squeeze in a Skullcrack, Roiling Vortex or a Stigma Lasher to offset the gain from the Aria of Flame. Probably in place of the Elixir of Immortality.

First off, thank you for being that guy. I'm not great at competitive deck building because I haven't been doing it for long. I usually only play with friends and have just started to get into my local fnm so any advice you've got is appreciated.

I have a RU Polymorph / Transmogrify deck that runs a set of Isochron Septers and Callous Dismissals / Lazotep Platings for repeatable control and an endless set of body's to sac for digging. This was originally going to be my take on Indestructifinity and I saw an opportunity for the Proteus Staff combo when I realized I could dig it out with Tezzeret. I can't dig the polymorph out so that's why I didn't end up putting any in there. I'd honestly rather pull the Emeakuls and find a new win con than switch them because i feel like it would slow the deck way down in comparison to my other one.

Here's that for comparison: https://deckstats.net/decks/149173/1967000-ramp-sac-dig-break-the-game?lng=en

At first I had some infect buffs thinking that would be a good alternate win con to just trying to pull out a thin wall of hard to remove beaters.

Again, I really appreciate the advice, I'll play around with it the way you told me to and see if I can make it feel right.

I feel like I'm on to something here but no matter how I tinker with it it still feels wrong. Any streamlining advice would be appreciated.
