General Magic / Deck Idea: Empty Hand

Hey there fellow deck builder   

I was digging through my old cards and stumbled across the card Imaginary Pet. So I was thinking if it is possible to build a deck around having no hand cards, using the disadvantage of having no hand as an advantage. If anyone has some good ideas I'm all ears...
Three cards for starters: Fool's Tome and Null Brooch and of course Veiled Crocodile

Hey, cooles Deck, habe vor einiger Zeit auch mal an so etwas gebastelt.
Hmm Fertile Ground könnte noch gut passen und so etwas wie Broken Fall (für noch mehr Karten).

Kann mir vorstellen das einige ein Problem damit haben, weil es halt kein straight forward deck ist, wie Burn oder Fast Aggro und auch nicht einfach nur Control. Man muss halt ausserhalb der Box denken, aber das ist ja grad das schöne das sowas bei Magic möglich ist. Auch gut mit den Counterspells, vielleicht ist ja noch Platz für sowas wie Annul oder so. Ich würde vielleicht sogar überlegen das Deck mono-blau zu machen, auch wenn man dann ein paar schöne Sachen rausschmeissen müsste. Hypnotic Siren ist in der Tat super fürs Deck und vielseitig einsetzbar und wenn nur als 1/1 Flying für ein Blaues Mana, trotzdem günstig.

Indeed, but thanks for the input. It just another example of how hard it is to find a suitable combo for Thran Lens. Maybe this card is just what it is and I probably should throw it back into my Goblin Deck...

Hehe, ja das kann ich verstehen einmal sehen wie man mit so einer Strategie kommt. Würde das Ganze vielleicht mit noch ein paar Counterspells versehen. Auf jeden Fall viel Erfolg dabei

Hey, eine ganz nette Idee. Habe so ein ähnliches Deck schon einmal vor einiger Zeit gebastelt. Allerdings habe ich zu dem Zeitpunkt Karten wie Confiscate, Reins of Power, Steal Artifact und ähnliches verwendet. Interessant für dich ist vielleicht auch die Karte Treachery. Thanks for your ideas and yes you are right, since Invoke Prejudice is color based Thran Lens wont have any effect. Thran Lens and Chaos Moon seems just to be a +-0 equation. So it only prevents my creatures from getting the -1/-1 malus. Nevertheless Thran Lens is still useful in denying bonuses for the opponent.

Hey there,
so far its a pretty neat deck. Almost every good Thrull Card is already in there. One addition regarding the deck flavor would be Thrull Retainer. Another card which would fit very well is Tourach's Gate. Besides that I am missing the Basal Thrull which is better than Blood Vassal. Keep me posted about this very interesting deck.

General Magic / How to utilize Thran Lens?

Hey people, its my first post here and the first time after a long break that i rediscovered my Magic Addiction. I am always puzzled by weird cards and try to make use of them. At the moment i am stuck with one card: Thran Lens
Nullifying Color Protection and Color Advantages such as Sunken City are the obvious stuff. Besides that I have found a few less convincing Combos:
Eradicate + Thran Lens
Attrition + Thran Lens
Well-Laid Plans + Thran Lens
Invoke Prejudice + Thran Lens
And one combo of my own:
Chaos Moon + Thran Lens (i have added Goblin Welder to make the number of permanents uneven if necessary)

So i was wondering, is there more to it, is it possible to find a suitable combo? I am open to any ideas and suggestions.

Nice Deck Idea, like the Land Tax + Protection Red Combo (also Reverse Damage). I think a Seismic Assault would fit in there quite good.
