Commander Deck Reviews / New Deck! - Big Red Dragons
« il: Giugno 29, 2021, 10:00:22 pm »
Hello! this is a decklist of my Lathliss, Dragon Queen deck. Any Suggestions for cars to add or remove would be greatly appreciated! The deck is more casual and budget oriented, so cards like Gamble, Neheb, the Eternal, and Mana Echoes are off the table (for now).

What does the deck want to do?
The deck aims to cast large dragons quickly and trgger Lathliss' ability to make even more dragons. I'm running large amounts of mana ramp to make it much easier to cast multiple dragons per turn and use Lathliss' ability a lot. The deck then uses abilities like Crucible of fire, and Shared Animosity to beef up dragons even more.

How does the deck win?
Simple. The deck aims to swing in with large dragons and use Lathliss' secound ability to pump up dragons. Quick wins can also come out of Ilharg, the Raze-Boar, Molten Echoes, and Terror of Mount Velus, as they can create a ton of extra damage out of nowhere.

What are some alternate win conditions?
The deck can use cards like Warstorm Surge, Dragon tempest, or Scourge of Valkas to do damage even if attacking isnt possible, but overall, the deck struggles to win if attacking isnt possible.

Other good dragon synergies I didn't mention
 - Sarkhan the Masterless: Makes attacking a pain if my board is developed, and can act as an extra dragon
 - Sarkhan's Triumph: Great cheap tutor that allows us to search for a cheap dragon or a win condition
 - Minion of the Mighty: New card from AFR that was just previewed, and its NUTS! Just one attack with this thing to cheat in a dragon is so good, and all for one mana! (Currently Kobolds of Kher Keep in the Decklist as Deckstats hasn't added it to the Deckbuilder yet)
 - Thunderbreak Regent: Ward 3 life for all my dragons? Ill take it!
 - Dragonkin Berserker: Creating a low mana 5/5 dragon every turn is super good, and one of the few ways to keep developing the board with no cards.
 - Belbe's Portal: Cheats in Dragons for cheap every turn

As I said before, any suggestions for cards to add or take away would be great! I don't normally build red, so I'm struggling with what removal/ramp to use, so extra help on that would be great!

I think you should definitley put Maskwood Nexus into the deck. Makes it possible to hit any creature in your deck with Gishath's ability, and lets your affects like Radiant destiny work on them.
