too bad that most good modern decks cost more than $250 and this doesn't stand a consistent chance against any of those

@EBWonder, Thank you for pointing that out, I must of misread it because i thought it milled BOTH players, then milled the opponent if Delirium was hit. That really does change things as far as speeding through the deck. But it would be a good way to steal resources from the opponent. Are there any cards from the BFZ block that exiles the ENTIRE graveyard? If so then delirium decks are gonna be in trouble.

@Mat Montgomery, the closing of the block did have a different feel to it but they did well with some of the synergies. For example, I didn't like how some of the creatures effects (for the black creatures) required you to TAP your creatures to use their effects. Now the rally triggers were good but I felt like against the ELDRAZI, tapping your creatures was like asking for damage to the face.
thats exactly what i mean. playing allies in the second half of the block was a risk because most of your value would come from the battle pack which got drafted last

The group of friends I play with has a rule that we don't use any cards with old art style. The Urza lands I saw fall into that category, unless they've been reprinted? I'm rather new to magic (only been playing for 3 months) so I'll look around and if I find any in a more modern artwork I'll edit the deck accordingly.
there are none, but that kind of limits which prebuilt modern decks you can use. like that rule specifically favors certain decks.

@mat montgomery, when I was naming the sets I was trying to encompass the ENTIRE blocks. So when I said battle for Zendikar, I was referring to that entire block. My apologies for any confusion. But in my honest opinion that block wasn't that bad. It was my first time actually playing on zendikar. I'm not a big fan of the lands turning into creatures but the concept was good and the other set mechanics worked great in the decks I built.

  @bigdogdch, the vamps do seem to have a heavy focus on the MADNESS enabling for this block. They are also doing the throwback to gaining +1/+1 counters for dealing damage (like in the last Innistrad block). Because it's Liliana's indignation I would feel that flavor wise it would go best in a zombie deck. However since this is your card combo any deck that has a large amount of creatures AND has a focus on black mana would work out just fine. So really the different combos would be (and this is as far as synergy in Standard goes);

1) Mono-Black
2) Orzhov [W/B]
3) Dimir [U/B]
4) Rakdos [B/R]
5) Golgari [B/G]
6) Esper [U/W/B]
7) Grixis [B/U/R]
8) Jund [R/B/G]
9) Abzan [W/B/G]
10) Sultai [B/G/U]
11) Mardu [R/W/B]

Any one of these color combos can support your strategy. The main question now is this; Which decks help your strategy the most?

Also @EBWonder, that would be a good strategy. If you made the deck Sultai (or "BUG") then you can include creatures such as manic scribe and the enchantment vessel of nascency. This way you can hit delirium, load up your graveyard and NOT be a sitting duck until you get the finisher that you want. Also the addition of BLUE in this deck would offer you the spell protection that you need in order to make the combo go off without any hiccups.
i don't dislike the entire block, i love battle. oath was lacking in my opinion, mainly becuase they switched to a completely different type of ally effects.

@Jace27, he's trying to build a Standard deck. That means only cards from the Dragons of Tarkir, Origins, Battle for Zendikar and the Shadows over Innistrad sets only. But i'm seeing that Mono-Black zombies is a popular trend among people. Reason why I choose U/B over mono-B is because the second color gives a larger array of creatures, it gives more play options, and it's easier t maintain some degree of control over the opponent as you play.
You forgot oath lol
Oath was rather lackluster asides from expos, so i dont blame you. I wish i could forget drafting that set.

That is pretty good. Personally though, i would cut a declaration of stone, a just the wind, and disperse in favor of 2 negate and a planar outburst.

It looks pretty good. For your sideboard you should have some counterspells, removal, and a boardwipe.

Break down of the cards and idea.
Reflector mage: Bounce opponents creature and can't cast it again till next turn
Wall of Resurgance: Get a blocker and attacker
Eldrazi Displacer: Bounce opponents creatures or bounce the mage or wall. Bounce my creatures when targeted by opponents.
Bouncing mage and wall can continually set off enter the battlefield effects.
Blinding Drone: Creature control as well, just helps slow down opponents creatures during declaration of attack phase

Eerie Interlude: Another bounce my creatures and set off enter the battlefield effect
Ghostly wings: Gives creature +1 +1 and flying. But another way to save a creature and bounce to recast and use
enter the battlefield effect.

So bouncing and reusing reflector mage stops opponent from casting a certain creature for a turn
and bouncing wall of resurgence can give me attackers or 1 massive attacker wich could became a 6/6, 9/9 or even a 12/12.
This is where I ran out of ideas and wich way to go.

I have 2 declaration in stone, I get 2 more for removal. Could drop blinding drone as well. Just basically stumped after thinking of
bouncing and reusing effects. Essence flux could also help? I think I have 4 allready.
Compelling Deterrance for pesky planeswalkers?
I dont know how many colors you want to end up in, but wall of resurgance is great in combo with man lands.

i am not big on mono color either. especially in modern, the only one i have ever seen that works well is burn and if its mono it gets locked out of the game by the combin ation of a sigarda, host of herons and a leyline of sanctity rather easily. i personally preferred dimir mill as well before i discovered the infinite landfall combo and i run that now because it allows for more interaction mainboard and gives me more options sideboard.

oh and OP, if you go into black you will want leyline of the void to deal with crucible and delver.
no mater what you decide to do color wise you should add serum visions, remand, and spellsnare.
and as you are running hedron crab, fetches are your friend for the double landfall trigger.

Just a little fun fact guys (and listen to this ESPECIALLY if you're running a landfall deck), you CAN use ghost quarter on one of your own lands and get another land from your deck. This will help with mana fixing and will give you an extra land drop on your turn.
very true, however it does set you back a land drop so you have to weigh the benefits versus the risks at the time. the only time i would do it without hesitation is if the landfall ability wins you the game or if you need a different colored land to activate a combo.

In this person's defense, the deck runs plenty of counters to shut down most people's plays (and to mill at the same time), a lot of the cards in this deck have a CMC of less than 4 (which means fast plays), and the main two creatures in this deck also make you mill. Now granted there are some areas that this deck can improve in but "dead in the water" is kinda harsh to say against something you haven't played against. Even if you've played against mill decks before, all games are different and not all deck themes or styles mean the same end results.
i said it was dead in the water in a certain matchup, not overall.  anything that runs a high number of instant and sorceries such as burn or control or storm is dead in the water the second hive mind resolves. the main issue with this is the sideboard. asides from the negates, which in all honesty should be mainboard, there are no answers for anything that causes this deck problems. especially to deal with anything that has already resolved. if the deck creator wants to run mill in modern, the should at least be in blue black if not blue black white. if going blue black the mainboard replacements for other cards that i would recommend are these:
Phenax, God of Deception
Breaking // Entering
Consuming Aberration
Mind Grind
Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker
Mind Funeral
If going blue white black i would take a look at my infinite combo deck:

I apologize if i am coming off like a dick, but when i was coming up with my mill decklist, i had to take all of this into account as well.

@mat montgomery, just because a deck is slow doesn't mean it can't be competitive or work well in modern. After all it is a mill deck, the reason behind it is to deprive the other person of resources. One thing to know about card playing is this: You can either out-pace the other person or you can slow them down to your speed. It doesn't matter how good your deck is if all your good stuff is either on the bottom of the deck or sitting in your graveyard.
i run a mill combo deck in modern. it can mill people out turn 4. the few counter spells this deck runs are far too expensive and it lacks an answer for crucible of the worlds and delver. it also lacks answers for decks that go wide and beat face.  and against anything that runs hive mind like one of my control decks does as well as my amulet deck, this deck is dead in the water. also, if you are running a jace to mill people, that is not the one to  pick.

this deck looks incredibly slow for modern of any competitive level.
