Fixed one more mistake with the last update; I just adjusted the decklist so it matched my recent postgame edits, but forgot to check the landbase balance, and realized I was a bit high on green and low on black, so made one more quick fix.

Changed amounts:
+2 Swamp
-2 Forest

In case it might help others locate the list, the precon's actual name is Savage Hunger not Hunter...

I guess Wizards saying Brawl would be supported in Arena means they want to push that format's popularity as much as possible; which would also explain why Core20 seemed so Commander-friendly; guess it was actually Wizard's way of making sure there'd be more Brawl-eligible commanders available when the format comes to Arena.

General Magic / Re: Sheldon's take on Infinite Combos in Commander

Well, at least for me a T3 Doubling Season screams for removal, exactly because of situations like this. If someone plays it that early, it should be clear that the card comming in the next turn will hurt alot.
Besides that, its a lock, no infinite combo. A infinite combo usually ends the game, while a lock doesn't. Like WWolfe already mentioned, just play your commanders and other creatures and smash his face until the lock is gone. After that, continue playing like nothing happend, just with 1 player left. ;)
Because you always have in hand the exact removal spell you need the moment you need it, right? Thinking back on it though, Narset Transcendant wasn't the best of examples; an early Jace, Unraveler of Secrets is definitely an NPE. Imagine facing a T2/3 Tangle Wire to prevent interruptions that then leads to a Jace, Unraveler of Secrets ultimate two turns later.

Sure, it's no Infinite combo, but at least the infinite combo won't drag the NPE over forever, whereas this does.

Aminatou, the Blinkshifter

So, made a few tweeks to give the deck a few more avenues of approach. Ditched the whole idea of using Ajani, Strength of the Pride and instead added a second combo avenue using the larks (Reveillark / Vesperlark) and an Altar of Dementia; coupled with either clones the deck offers, this gives a bit more flexibility to the deck which, considering the apparent arms-race in my playgroup, now seems necessary...

The addition of a Clever Impersonator also makes both combos more likely, as that's one more card I can pull that can fulfill their respective requirements...

Changes:
-1 Cloudblazer
-1 Restoration Angel
-1 Settle Beyond Reality
+1 Clever Impersonator
+1 Vesperlark
+1 Altar of Dementia

If my opponent can ultimate Narset Transcendent on turn 4 [T1 land+dork, T2 land+dork/rock, T3 land+Doubling Season, T4 Narset], locking the game completely for almost anyone but him/her, how is any kind of infinite combo that can come up on T4 any worse?

Deck Reviews / [EDH / Commander] Aminatou, the Blinkshifter

Aminatou, the Blinkshifter

Been trying to improve my deck with the upcoming M20 release, and just started thinking maybe I'd found a good home for the new Ajani. Currently been going with a combat damage/chipping away strategy (usually have enough removal to get enough through) and the occasional infinite combo, but been wanting to find some alternative solutions...

Infinite combo: Any two from Felidar Guardian / Clone / Wispweaver Angel (Restoration Angel also works, but only with Felidar Guardian)
- With Corpse Knight or Vela the Night-Clad to combo-burn opponents
- With Altar of the Brood to combo-mill them instead

Possible idea:
Add more blink/ETB lifegain (Ajani's Welcome, Healer of the Pride, Impassioned Orator, Ob Nixilis, the Fallen, etc...) and Ajani, Strength of the Pride and get a reusable board-wipe (Trigger his 0, blink him away while the effect is on the stack, avoid the exile effect...). This also finds me a third walker which could possibly fuel The Elderspell to ultimate Venser, the Sojourner.

So, think Ajani and/or lifegain is an idea worth trying?

Commander Deck Reviews / Re: [EDH / Commander] [Null-W] Ydris, Cascade for Value
« am: Juni 21, 2019, 01:08:07 Nachmittag »
Not sure I like Finale of Promise here; with a CMC of 2, the spell is bound to be cast off of Cascade and end up wasted with X = 0 (and waste your Cascade)...

Is there any way you could add a Blade of Selves? Being able to attack an (idelly defenseless) enemy to pop multiple copies (and thus trigger that many ETB effects that can each be doubled/tripled by Yarok and/or Panharmonicon) is one of the easiest ways of re-triggering the ETB effects of a creature that's already in play, no?

General Magic / Re: M20 cards you want so far?

I'm definitely looking forward to Agent of Treachery in my Aminatou blink deck. Sure is somewhat expensive for a removal spell at 7 mana, but there are no targetting restrictions and it's a thief rather than removal and it eventually turns into a draw engine...

One shock land, two check lands, dreadhorde butcher, collision/Colossus, thud, and surgical extraction.
I assume you mean Llanowar Elves rather than Surgical Extraction, right? (The later not being in the deck, or even Standard legal, shows it's obviously not the card you were thinking about)

Farmstead Gleaner is a must-have with Mairsil, the Preteder now. Since he (she?) only inherits the activated abilities the untap clause doesn't carry over, so being able to untap for 2 once per turn is golden...

As an alternative to Graveyard recursion, cards that let you exile cards from your Graveyard would work too... Let her go to the GY when she dies, exile her back to the Command Zone and cast her again (Cabal Inquisitor being the first example that comes to mind, or Delve)
