Main play was to use D'Avenant trapper and cast historics keeping them tapped out . Daring Archaeologist for recursion . Artificer's Assistant and Padeem, Consul of Innovation for draw and hexproof . Approach of the second sun for alternative wincon , settle the wreckage + fall of the thran  + watchers of the dead for cripple. Helm of the host and metallurgic summonings to keep board state established .

I hope everyone enjoyed the release of Dominaria . I won 3 packs of cards . I played b/w historic tap deck . Went to a new place this time and it was so much better than the last . The people were kind and friendly , no table flipping . I bought a box and get a free promo card along with the 2 in the tournament box . Firesong and Sunspeaker .

I feel pretty good about the ones I have , ornithopter , sword of feast and famine , meekstone , 2 sword of body and mind . I put them back away, and see what another year brings . I feel good that there will always be someone looking for " expeditions , invocations or masterpieces as long as Magic is around , people have money to burn and someone out there wants a full foil deck to show off.

Hey any of you out there won any masterpieces from kaladesh invention set ? I do not play commander at the moment , nor do I see myself playing anytime soon now that brawler is out . So there is a bit of a buying frenzy right now over these . I guess they are for collectors and hard core gamers who foil out their decks ( or so my friend says  ) . I have 5 of these left in my collection , I sold 2 a bit back . right now face value is $330 and I got an offer of $175 .  Seems pretty reasonable  . Was going to use the money and buy a box of Dominaria and use the rest on singles to try and fill out my 2 pauper decks .  Just looking for an honest opinion from all you folks . realistically they are sleeved in a binder just sitting there , and I do not use them , which makes no sense to hold on to them but I wonder how long it will be before we see another "special series"  like expeditions , inventions , invocations ?? and therefore could be a big price growth .    decisions

So I got to play test the b/g counter deck , I won 2 out of 3 matches in 3 player games , against the other 2 challenger decks  , one was mono red and the other was u/w .  I think b/g is strong  , the other 2 looked to be more viable maybe 1 on 1 . Have not seen 3c vehicle deck yet .

So I wanted to really see what was in this one , so I purchased it at Walmart when leaving work tonight . It retails at 31.98 I get a discount , so I got it for 29.00 . I threw a deck together using deck-builder just to tally up the overall value and I am quite surprised main board was $76. and change side board was $6 and change . There are a few decent cards in the deck .  Unfortunately after 6 months 95% of this deck is out of standard rotation with the way it functions now . Just wanted to give a heads up to all the folks out there who are on these forums .

I tried to do a little research just on standard , I came up with this list of cards that will have some kind of bearing on saga triggered abilities . Disallow , keldon warcaller , maulfist revolutionary , nimble obstructionist , quarry hauler , siren stormtamer , skyship plunderer , solemnity , winding constrictor . Plenty of removal is at disposal . (12 cards ) and counter spells (15 cards ) . I am more concerned with the triggered abilities myself , whether its offensive or defensive .

I have been collecting since oath of the gate watch so I do have complete play sets of all cards that have been printed since then , so im okay adding cards from current sets ( i would think that is what people do in edh ? they just add the cards that fall out of standard that are strong enough to play ? ) but then someone else who just started playing would be in the same boat I am in for 100 card commander , they do not have many cards at all which will make it expensive , ( I think it would still be much cheaper to try to establish brawler decks than any of the edh decks ) I mean if you look at the sets and prices there isn't anything in a block set that would cause you to take out a second mortgage on your house . And every time I tell my friend I have a new card for the edh deck I'm building his reply is the same ......such and such a card is better and faster and more expensive, you would be losing the game by the time you play that anyway . ( which is deterrent in itself ).
And I hate to be negative , so I guess its like anything else , If you want to play , at some point in time you are gonna pay ( or have a bunch of friends which a bunch of cards )
