Do people think, that this would actually work consistently because they don't know what removal nor counterspells are, or is it just because of the meme?

Nah, this deck would rarely work which is why it would be so boring, you would either get out your combo or be stuck playing the exact same creature every turn until you get enough mana for Merelen again. Also as soon as somebody plays a krosan grip/board wipe you're basically finished. So yes, this is just a meme deck.

I don't think you understand how the cards work, they do exactly the same thing, you can't just choose to stop with tainted pact (someone please let me know if I am reading this wrong)

I think you need a lot more ramp (If you face anything that is categorized anywhere near aggro, you will die before you can get a boardstate every time)

sadly I don't have any of the cards you mentioned except for Grumgully and I don't really want to include infinite combos in my deck, thanks anyways, I will consider adding more ramp if I find my deck is too slow.
