So, is Kiora your prime means of triggering Delirium?

This is kind of a weird deck to me. Especially for one that's supposed to be running Delirium. So, how does it work? Is it a concept or something you actually play? And if the latter, how does it perform. I'm not trying to knock it or anything, it's just very different from other Delirium builds I've seen.

Sure. Give it a try and see how you like it. Though it still won't quite be as good as just having Liliana and dropping that blasted emblem of hers. I have had to play against that and it is not an easy one to beat.

Honestly you have enough land that gives black mana where you could probably drop the Estuaries for simple Islands. As for other options to pull things out of your graveyard, Ferics is on about the Ever After. If you wanted spells that were a bit less mana intensive though; you could run Gravepurge or Dutiful Return. However, neither of these spells put things directly on the battlefield like Ever After does. And though I love Necromantic Summons, it may be better to pay the extra mana for two creatures than five for one though it can come from any graveyard.

Deck Reviews / Re: Is this deck FNM ready?
« on: May 29, 2016, 12:25:11 am »
Why wouldn't it be? The truth of the matter is your best teacher of what works and what doesn't is going to be playing it out yourself and seeing how the deck does against the wealth of horror that FNM will bestow upon you. You see a lot of flaws very quickly and you learn to correct them.

My main deck is an Abzan Morph Dragon deck, and the first time I got to play it competitively, after making changes post-rotation, was at the first day of Game Day. I got stomped and took last place. I took it home and changes were made. On the second day of Game Day, I went to the final two and took third (not quite sure how that worked, but whatever). Point is, you'll see what is working and not working in competitive play, weaknesses and strengths both get highlighted. Don't worry about the first few losses with your first deck, as they happen and nothing beats everything in Magic.

That being said, the only thoughts I'll offer are to be careful of cards that demand more than one of the same color in their CMC when playing a tri-color deck. You seem to have enough black to not worry too much about the ones in your mainboard, but those Planar Outburst in you side may not be as helpful as one may hope. Other thought is the Mindwrack Demon being a bit of a double-edged sword. The card's a tank in the right kind of deck but if Delirium doesn't get triggered your opponent may just sit back and watch it kill you. Just a forewarning, but this is also just me eyeballing the build. How it will actually do, will remain to be seen. Take it out on a Friday night and then decide what can be done better, and remember that everything is always subject to draw.

General Magic / Re: Planeswalker weaknesses?

Using Planeswalkers as a distraction... That's actually won me a few games.. ::)

As for trample damage, you wouldn't need to redirect it even if you could. You just throw the trampler at the walker and do damage with the excess. Not sure if that was clarified above, so I just wanted to point that out. The damage is already assigned to the walker.

And I don't think axe/shadows combo would work as the wording on Spiteful Shadows specifies that the redirect is aimed at the creature's controller. A Planeswalker card is not controlling that creature.

Yeah, I've played against a lot of Planeswalker-heavy decks. They can be annoying (Garruk, Apex Predator is one of my favorite cards for a reason...) but honestly they aren't that hard to deal with in most builds. Black/red aggro is a pretty good build that shouldn't have too much difficulty as long as you can get around whatever defenses your opponents are using. I don't know what format you're playing so I can only say so much, but sound all-around advice is what the other guys said in the form of rushing them. I would add though, that using flying creatures is always a solid means of getting to them quickly. Even looking at the current stock of vampires it's pretty easy to find solid fliers to use (Heir of Falkenreath....looking at that one especially..). Otherwise robort's comprehensive list of Planeswalker hate should give you removal options.

So, I've seen a similar build, and it's a good combo. Your lands though...they don't quite match the creatures.

This is probably one of the cheapest modern decks I've ever seen. I dig it though.

Well, those cards together actually pose a pretty solid combination. The Boltwing's ability along Tempest haste for the masses, it synergizes well. Just about every dragon deck runs Tempest. Also, for you Boltwing, while it's true he is vulnerable to those types of removal, you'll notice most of the dragons are. Ideally, you'll get a Thunderbreak Regent or two out alongside him to provide cover. But if it becomes a major problem and you face decks like that, as you say you are, it may be prudent to sideboard a few cheap growth spells (it is what green does). My personal suggestion would be Lead By Example. It's a two drop instant that puts a +1/+1 counter on two creatures at the same time. One is enough to put any of your dragons out of range of Grasp or Languish. It's not a flashy answer, but I know it works because I've used it.

I see. I missed that synergy. Very cool.

I really like this build. I played against a version of it at Game Day a couple weeks back. I beat the guy, but I still thought the whole build was really cool.

I may suggest though, since you are playing the Prodder and opponents can "nope" your draws, throw in some graveyard shenanigans. Necromantic Summons is a great one as it puts the creature right onto the battlefield. Other options include Dutiful Return, Gravepurge or Foul Renewal. You're running black after all, so play black.

Swift Warkite and Sin Prodder are two cards I don't see a whole lot of. It's refreshing actually. Cool deck. I especially like the Prodder as an addition because it's ability goes very well alongside the high mana costs of those dragons. And then there's Hedron Archive. The great ramp artifact that the world forgot.

It's an interesting idea, and probably the first really Investigate focused strategy I've seen at all. Like I was thinking about building one around the Graf Mole. But, I have to ask if the Defiant Bloodlord was an intentional add? If so, you may want to add a couple Swamps.
