Karador Shadowborn Apostles- Ayara, First of Locthwain with Thrumming Stone out, cast a Shadowborn Apostle and Ripple 4 through the rest of my deck putting out 17 Apostles, dealing 17 from Ayara. I got destroyed after that the one remaining player but it was a fun little sequence that I never thought I'd pull off (I thought either Ayara or the Stone would get removed on site because people would see it coming). I forgot how much I enjoyed playing that deck.

Turn 1: Sol Ring.
Turn 2: Smothering Tithe.
Turn 3: Felidar Sovereign.
Turn 4: Win.

So that was lucky.

Turn 4: Win.

So that was lucky.

After that, did all of your opponents vow to pay for your Smothering Tithe forever more?
Happy Brewing!

Nah, and it's not like that would have made a big difference. Any ramp spell of mine would have accomplished the same result. It was the lack of removal that screwed them.

I had some really good games these past few days. I'm learning a lot about Judith, Carnage Connoisseur.

First, the last ability of Bolas's Citadel makes for a very good win condition. Not used to that; in all my other decks I forget that it has that ability.

In another game I managed to play Judith on turn 4. On turn 5 my opponents had 10 creatures collectively, so I was able to play Revel in Riches and follow it up with Blazing Volley. With the ten treasures I won on the next upkeep.

Was playing a game this weekend using Neera, Wild Mage against Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor, The Scarab God, and Willowdusk, Essence Seer.
The game was not really going my way, I was getting mana flooded and not drawing into anything that would make creature tokens to use the Polymorph from my opening hand to get my Displacer Kitten. The most I had managed to do was get a few spells to draw cards, netting a bunch more lands and a Shifting Shadow, get an Aria of Flame out, and drop Stasis Field on The Scarab God.
Eventually I happened to draw into Chaotic Transformation and used it on a bunch of their stuff and my own Stasis Field since The Scarab God said they'd lay off me for a turn if I got rid of it. I immediately reveal Omniscience, which obviously worries everyone and they beat me as close to death as they can manage.
Next turn I draw into my Displacer Kitten and bait out counters with Polymorph aimed at their stuff and a couple other spells before casting the Kitten, then Neera, and finally Shifting Shadow to set off the infinite Grapeshot loop.

The fact that my deck did what it was supposed to do, and won, wasn't quite what made it so enjoyable as it was just dropping an Omniscience on everyone out of nowhere.

I had a fun cEDH game today. Turn 1 a Najeela player cast Imperial Seal putting some card on top. So they are going to attempt to win next turn. On my turn I play Ragavan for his dash cost to exile the top card, which ended up being Ad Nauseam.

I have never seen anyone pay the dash cost before. It was a very unusual counter-play.

Had a 3 way commander game today. Rowan, Scion of War (me), The Scarab God, and some Orzhov commander I forget who but it was a bunch of tokens and other little guys with I assume sac outlets and payoffs they just weren't drawing. Could've been an intentional Orzhov weenies deck I suppose.
I've got Repercussion and Exquisite Blood out, which is just generally making combat impossible for Orzhov guy while The Scarab God is just getting screwed the whole game without any blue mana. Eventually Orzhov guy and I get myself low enough that his board state is sufficient enough to end up with a mutual kill. He was hoping to just wipe me out and narrowly survive, but apparently really thought "math is for blockers" was a wise choice rather than double check himself. I was able to block off just enough that combat damage didn't kill me and stacked Repercussion triggers to kill him first, gain life off that, then still die anyway.
We all had a good laugh about it, especially after The Scarab God asked if he really just won by doing literally nothing.

Had a good game going with my Sidisi (zombie tribal build) deck against Prosper, Megatron, and Sauron. Deck was popping off as much as I've ever seen it for it to be only turn 7, had 68 tokens out with 7 or 8 other zombies out. Of note, one was Undead Augur. Sauron casts Toxic Deluge and I die to the Augurs triggers. I was very much enjoying the game until that point. If only I had a sac outlet out....

Playing against The Locust God, Lathril, and OG Edgar Markov. Sidisi, Brood Tyrant, Geralf, the Fleshwright, Parallel Lives, & Path of Discovery can be nasty together. Cast Sidisi with the other three on the board. Sidisi enters, mill 3 & hit a creature. Create 2 zombies because of Parallel Lives. Path of Discovery two times- both hit creatures I mill. Two more instances of two zombies, each with counters from Geralf. More Path of Discovery triggers, hit more creatures that enter with even more counters from Geralf. Repeat this all the way through my deck multiple times until I have 800+ zombies with a ton of counters of them, then I was tired of the cycle and left a card on top.

Only problem was I didn't have haste BUT I did have Altar of Dementia in my hand which I cast and sac tokens to mill out all three opponents. Who says mill doesn't work in commander?

Took a long lunch today and got to try out a few changes I made in my Sidisi zombie tribal version. Had switched in Glissa Sunslayer just to test her out and not only did I draw her but she came in very handy. Opponent played Rest In Peace (just shoot me) on his turn. Gets back to my turn and I cast Gossip's Talent and immediately level up. Give Gissa the unblockable and after the combat damage select her mode to destroy target enchantment. Didn't go very well for me after that. Same player was playing Anafenza, the Foremost and drew into it. I was pretty much just dead in the water until the Zhulodok, Void Gorger player took out the Anafenza player. I was so far behind at that point it would have taken a miracle for me to come back and it just wasn't in the cards. Still, was nice to draw a card I was play-testing and see it work.

I had a memorable game about 2-3 weeks ago cause of how it ended. I don't remember the commanders and there was 3 of us just playing. I only have on my field the enchantment last laugh with no creatures on my field and 20 life. Player 1 has 3 creatures on his field with a commander's sphere and 10 life. Player 2 has 6 creatures that can do lethal to both of us on his turn but while only has 3 life. So previously player 2 hits me for 40 damage bringing me down to 20 life and passes the turn. I have no cards in hand and I draw, play my land and pass while me and player 1 both know we are dead to player 2. Player 2 draws and then it dawns on me that he can sac commander's sphere to start the cycle of last laugh. Once he does that will deal the 1 damage to his 1/1 mana dork along with all of us players. Once the dork dies it will deal another damage to his 2/2 thus killing player 2 with 3 life. He'd still have a creature on board so I do convince him to start this cycle of last laugh. Well in response to the trigger of last laugh going off player 2 which I forgot has also a sac outlets and sacs all 6 of his creatures. Looks at player 1 and goes "Guess Rob wins"... I first was shocked because I won with 0 creatures on the field but laughed with player 2 cause that would have been a play I would have done because if player 2 was going to die then both player 1 and player 2 was going to die together.
A legend in my own mind or so what the voices keep telling me

During the holidays, I returned to my hometown and played a couple of games with my old playgroup.
G1 I played Sram, Senior Edificer against Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd and Oona, Queen of the Fae. The Phelia player won so, for G2, he switched to Xira Aryen (while the third player and I kept the same decks). I won G2.
Both games were long (for being only 3 players), grindy and interactive. Power level was fairly high but no one was playing infinite combos.
The funniest moment was when the Oona player cast Evil Twin on the Phelia player's Silent Arbiter thinking the effect was asimmetrical (he needed to attack with all his fearie tokens but did not have enough chump blockers to survive the counter-attack).

Turn 1...Swamp, Sol Ring, Jet Medallion
Turn 2...Swamp, Gisa, the Hellraiser
Turn 3...Blasting Station, Amulet of Vigor....turn around the table creating 8 zombies
Turn 4...Three Tree City, Lord of the Undead, attack each player with two zombies leaving 2 back as blockers

Explosive start with a great opening hand. I was the first one out after someone Toxic Deluged for 3 and someone else blew up the Blasting Station, after that I was the archenemy.

Sidisi out, Mesmeric Orb out, The Scarab God out, endstep before my turn, turn over the morph'ed Aphetto Alchemist. Tapping it to target itself to mill the Orb. Go through my deck until I create 36 zombies (carefully calculated on my part to leave me a cushion in case anyone did anything to gain life).

My upkeep, they die to The Scarab God.
