p1p1 jitte into tracker led wanting to be a more assertive GW type of deck, but in the end green was the really open color. p2 gave me lots of mana, and pack 3 gave me some of the heavy hitters (opening karn and getting passed hoof!).

round 1 vs brad on UR aggro; this was a jitte round. some awkward draws, but jitte blew up a lot of his little dudes in game 1. game 2 i got enough stuff onto the board, and jitte then slammed the door.

round 2 vs anna on her trademark boros angels. game 1 she put some pressure on me and i didn't draw very well. but she wasn't quite fast enough; turn 6 hornet queen threw some chump blockers in the way, and turn 7 craterhoof hit for lethal. in game 2 thragtusk came in from the board and helped slow things down. karn and hornet queen then turned the tide to finish things.

finals vs dave on monoblack. game 1 was closeish - i hit the hornet queen to stabilize, but he cast languish with kalitas in play, giving him a zombie crew and a surviving doom whisperer. game 2 i was able to curve out a little better - a mana leak to stop his grey merchant was critical, and a tireless tracker helped me get up enough on cards to pull out victory. the deciding game was a nail-biter, with me trying to stay alive long enough to hit a home run. he played a turn 2 dark confidant and an early desecration demon. i had mana with paradise druid, reach, simulacrum, clone paradise druid, cryptic to tap and slow down his team. dave paused on 4 mana and bob flipped a shelodred to put him low enough, and i was able to get a craterhoof out with two other creatures - enough to just steal lethal. this was a very fun, competitive match.
