UR value (cube) (Cube)

2-1 with UR stuff. i got a lot of good role players for this deck. at its best, it played out some cheap threats, played some efficient interaction, and out-carded the opponent. i settled into UR and never really had an excuse to leave it, though i think black might have been a bit more open in my seat.

i beat charles match one on bant field of the dead/value cards. he won game one by going wide enough and sticking a felidar retreat. in the next two games, i sided in sword of feast and famine, which let me deploy threats, leave up answers, and disrupt his hand. the counterspells sealed the deal there.

i beat greg match 2 on GW aggro. in game 1 my draw lined up very nice - his start was fast enough, but fire took down 2 creatures, my phantasmal image on his giver of runes created good blocks, and grim lavamancer + jace + fact or fiction had a stocked graveyard to do what i pleased with. the value was too much! in g2 he missed lands early, and fell too far behind.

i lost to dave in the finals on bw aggro. i don't hate my aggro matchup, but lingering souls and accorder paladin put some quick beats on me. i felt like i was in the ballpark game 1, but two removal spells from dave at a key moment led to a fatal attack. g2 felt like i was always one or two steps behind. lingering souls was joined by rankle, and the evasion and width of attack was too much for me to make up.
