Commodore Guff's League of Extraordinary Friends! (EDH / Commander)

Many ages passed since the Skullbriar deck was perfected, and many Commander games have been won... but now, the other colours beg some attention, and Commodore Guff shall answer! This will hopefully be the true home of Pramikon who, after all these years, never found one. Now with Guff & Skully side by side, all the colours will enjoy fair representation!

But one day... a newcomer will be added to the cast... a certain... investigator...

PRECON CHANGES:
(Guff's precon deck is actually strong enough & flexible enough on its own to play well against any given deck. All the "upgrades" I've made here were chosen with specific reasons in mind. A lot of these changes are subjective. For example, I personally prefer simple cards with straightforward abilities over cards that are stronger but take more thinking power to use. I also want to prioritise cards that are fun to both play with and play against. Generally speaking, the further down you go in this list, the more subjective/questionable changes you'll find. A lot of strong removal & boardwipes have been sideboarded to make room for more planeswalkers - if this doesn't sit right with you, or if you have gripes with any of the changes I've made, please feel free to ignore those changes or just use whatever card you want instead.)

Oath of Jace --> Teferi's Talent (very useful loyalty accelerator with terrific emblem)

Repeated Reverberation --> Rowan's Talent (repeatable version of the same effect; excellent long-term value)

Deploy the Gatewatch --> Urza Assembles the Titans (flavour win, if for no other reason)

Norn's Annex --> Nils, Discipline Enforcer (aside from great politics, this card shuts down massive threats like Hydroid Krasis, redirects them towards other opponents, and synergizes remarkably well with proliferate)

Narset, Enlightened Master --> Whirlwind of Thought (extremely good card draw engine replacing a widely shunned card)

Wall of Denial --> Gold-Forged Thopteryx (a neat utility attacker/blocker that gives all walkers & most creatures ward 2)

Cartographer's Hawk --> Mila, Crafty Companion (pillowfort, also doubles as extra walker if needed)

Oreskos Explorer --> Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion (insane passive value)

Honor-Worn Shaku --> Ichormoon Gauntlet (turns excess walkers into loyalty engines)

Semester's End --> Elspeth Conquers Death (removal that hits enchantments and doubles as recursion seems better than a 4-mana reaction that might not get played)

Myriad Landscape --> Raugrin Triome (straight upgrade which I happen to own already)

Forge of Heroes --> Nesting Grounds (forge is mostly redundant here, while grounds at least MIGHT get used to nudge a walker's loyalty up a notch)

1 Plains --> Great Hall of the Citadel

1 Plains --> Spectator Seating

1 Island --> Sulfur Falls

1 Island --> 1 Mountain (evens out new mana distribution)

Mobilized District --> The Peregrine Dynamo (cheap, repeatable copy effect. We can afford to drop some land)

Exotic Orchard --> Luxior, Giada's Gift (neat way to protect a walker, or attack with one. Just be aware that whatever gets equipped won't count towards Guff's [-3])

Skycloud Expanse --> Pramikon, Sky Rampart (S-tier pillowfort & beautiful art. One of my all-time favourites)

SIDEBOARDED CARDS:

The Wanderer --> The Eternal Wanderer (upgraded version of the walker which doubles as a decent boardwipe. Mana cost increase is no big deal since Guff can help us out there)

Gideon Jura --> Rowan Kenrith (more useful abilities & fetches Will)

Jace, Architect of Thought --> Will Kenrith (simpler abilities & fetches Rowan)

Jace, Mirror Mage --> Tezzeret, Artifice Master (flying blockers are great, plus a good carddraw ability and a fantastic ult)

Jace Beleren --> Kasmina, Enigmatic Mentor (ward for my board with some nice utility attached)

Narset, Parter of Veils --> Chandra, Acolyte of Flame (red walker synergy replacing a very annoying "everybody target me" card)

Chandra, Awakened Inferno --> Mordenkainen (card draw & big creature replacing another "everyone target me" card)

Saheeli, Sublime Artificer --> Dovin, Grand Arbiter (flying blockers and lifegain replacing brain-intensive ability)

Thrummingbird --> Quintorius Kand (now this is an extraordinary friend if I've ever seen one)

Path to Exile --> Karn, Scion of Urza (flavour, artwork, and also his cool non-solitaire draw ability)

Promise of Loyalty --> Ral Zarek (who needs boardwipes when you have EXTRA TURNS!!!!!!)

Blasphemous Act --> Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded (all the +loyalty effects make Tibalt somewhat viable in this deck. It is my dream to win a game using his ult)

Nevinyrral's Disk --> Comet, Stellar Pup (what da dawg doin?)

Nahiri, the Harbinger --> Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset (great ramp & draw)

Swords to Plowshares --> Gideon of the Trials (good pillowfort with very funny emblem)

The Walker pool idea was something a good friend of mine suggested: "Why don't you have a small roster of planeswalkers that you can swap in and out randomly before each game?" I loved the idea at first, but quickly became overwhelmed with options. After all, why should a complete deck need more cards? I might do something similar using whatever's in the sideboard, i.e. Gatewatch only, Red Walkers, Girl Power etc.
