Zeige Revision 71. There is a more recent version of this deck.
The goal of this deck is simple: get "Liquimetal Coating" and "Isochron Scepter" with an imprinted 2cc instant "destroy artifact" on the board as quickly as possible. The deck has ten "destroy artifacts" cards to imprint (Abrade, Destructive Revelry, and Smash to Smithereens). "Liquimetal Coating" changes your opponent's threats (creature, enchantment, land, etc.) into an artifact to be destroyed by the imprinted sceptre. Reuse this strategy till your opponent runs out of threats or lands to play their spells. An activated Man-land "Raging Ravine" and a flipped "Awoken Horror" can finish your opponent.
Getting all these cards in play will always be a challenge. Having "Liquimetal Coating" on the board gives you the best shot at winning. If your opening hand does not include "Liquimetal Coating" and a couple of lands, try to mulligan till you get them. After a few mulligans, if you still do not have Liquimetal Coating, hopefully, your hand now includes "Fabricate" to help you fetch one from your library. "Karn, the Great Creator" can also grab "Liquimetal Torque" and "Spellskite" from your sideboard and put them into your hands too.
After imprinting "Isochron Scepter" with one of the "destroy artifact" instants, the deck has other options. "Abrade" can destroy a creature with three or fewer toughness. "Destructive Revelry" can also take care of those nasty enchantments.
For lands, the deck includes Shock-lands (Stomping Ground, Steam Vents, Bleeding Pool), Battle-lands (Cinder Glade) and basic lands (Forest, Mountain, Island). This deck also has Fetch-lands (Misty Rainforest, Scalding Tarn, Wooded Foothills) and "Sylvan Scrying" to get all the lands the deck needs. If your opponent puts one of your artifacts in the graveyard, "Academy Ruins" can help get it back into your hand. There is also one Man-land (Raging Ravine) to attack opponents and help block their attacking creatures.
There are a few creatures in this deck. "Sylvan Caryatid" can block attacking creatures and ramp mana. With the release of Shadow Over Innistrad block, we also get the "Thing in the Ice" creature, which can turn into a monster. With a bunch of instants and sorceries in this deck, removing the ice counters shouldn't be that difficult. Once "Awoken Horror" comes into play, it clears the board by returning all non-horror creatures to you and your opponent's hand.
The sideboard includes cards that are in my meta group. "Spellskite" is there to change direct removal spells that target "Liquimetal Coating" and "Isochron Scepter." "Melira, Sylvok Outcast" is here to stop Infect decks. "Liquimetal Torque" is here to give you another way to turn everything except land into an artifact. Nature's Claim" deals with the opponent locking the deck out with "Chalice of the Void" since many cards in this deck are 2cc. "Leyline of Sanctity" stops Burn and Storm decks. As for dealing Graveyard decks, "Scavenging Ooze" can grow from exiled cards from the graveyard. "Firespout" and "Pyroclasm" wipe the board from Token decks.
Please let me know what you think! :)
Update: since "Mycosynth Lattice" is not legal anymore in Modern, I have replaced it with "Liquimetal Torque."
