[EDH] M'Odo, the Gnarled Oracle combo competitive (EDH / Commander)

M'Odo the Gnarled Oracle is a legendary creature printed as a promo "Heroes of the Real" card for the team of MTGO (https://twitter.com/mtg_lee/status/1027985778146664448). Having a different back, this is not a MtG card and so it's not legal in any format, but you asked for it, so here it is! Remember, ask your playgroup before play this commander!

BUG Legendary Creature - Zombie Elf Wizard 0/3

Eminence - {X}, Discard a card: Target Player reveals cards from the top ot their library until they reveal a creature card with converted mana cost X or less. Put that card onto the battlefield under your control, then that player shuffles the rest into their library. Activate this ability onli if M'Odo, the Gnarled Oracle is on the battlefield or in the command zone.

Being a broken card, what we want to do is play a broken combo deck and, because it's not an MTG card, why not try to build a non budget competitive list?

Let's start with the combo:

. With no creature with CMC equal or less that 2 other than Hermit Druid, we can always search for it with M'Odo.
. Having no basics, we can mill our entire library with its ability
. We just have to pay Dread Return flashback cost, reanimate Laboratory Maniac and draw with Deep Analysis for the win.

So, the critic aspects are activate Hermit Druid the turn it comes in play, have three creature to sac for Dread Return, let Dread Retur resolves and protect Laboratory Maniac while drawing from the empty library.

Most of those problems can be solved with a lot of 0 cost counterspells, while the sacrifice creatures can be created as tokens or unearthed and Heremit Druid can be hasten with Concordant Crossroad, Thousand-Year Elixir, Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves.

The rest of the deck is literally made of tutor and cantrip to find whatever we will need, counter for protection and the best manarocks ever printed to combo off as soon as possible.

Preminenza - {X}, Scarta una carta: Un giocatore bersaglio rivela carte dalla cima del suo grimorio fino a che non rivela una carta creatura con costo di mana coverntito pari o inferiore a X. Metti questa carta sul campo di battaglia sotto il tuo controllo, poi quel giocatori rimescola il resto nel suo grimorio. Attiva questa abilità solo se M'Odo, the Gnarled Oracle è sul campo di battaglia o nella zona di comando.

Essendo una carta sbagliata, quello che vogliamo fare è giocare un mazzo combo sbagliato e, siccome non è una carta MTG, perchè non provare a montare una lista non budget competitiva?

Iniziamo con la combo:

. Non avendo creature con CMC minore o uguale a 2 oltre a Hermit Druid, possiamo sempre cercarlo con M'Odo.
. Non avendo terre base, possiamo macinare il nostro intero grimorio con la sua abilità
. Ora dobbiamo solo pagare il flashback di Dread Return, rianimare Laboratory Maniac e pescare con Deep Analysis per la vittoria.

Quindi, i punti critici sono attivare Hermit Druid nel turno in cui entra in gioco, avere tre creature da sacrificare per Dread Return, risolvere Dread Retur e proteggere Laboratory Maniac mentre peschiamo dal grimorio vuoto.

Molti di questi problemi possono essere risolti con molte contromagie a costo 0, mentre le creature da sacrificare possono essere create come predine o dissotterrate e Heremit Druid può essere velocizzato con Concordant Crossroad, Thousand-Year Elixir, Swiftfoot Boots e Lightning Greaves.

Il resto del mazzo è letteralmente composto da tutori e peschini per trovare qualsiasi cosa ci possa servire, contromagie per protezione e i migliori mana rock mai stampati per scombare il prima possibile.

Non preoccuparti, se vuoi giocare M'Odo the Gnarled Oracle in un modo diverso, meno competitivo e decisamente più economico, ci ho già lavorato!
