Doran the Siege Tower (Modern)

Once again, this deck is mostly based off of the power of Rest in Peace, which I think is the strongest sb card in Modern currently. Doran in a lot of ways plays like Junk, but crucially can take advantage of not requiring the graveyard as well as a few other interesting matchup changes.

Burn is bad in game one, but leyline of sanctity essentially destroys their ability to win.
One of affinity's mots powerful cards, Cranial Plating, is coincidentally shut off by the nature of our deck, which makes that matchup easier. The inclusion of stony silence clutches our games two or three, while also giving us excellent game against thopter foundry sword of the meek decks.
Junk traditionally has a potentially troubling matchup against combo, but Rest in Peace hoses half of Storm, Griselshoal, Living End, Abzan combo, and Vengevine.

We are maindecking Spellskite, which is amazing against Infect, Kiki Chord, and Bogles, as well as denies Scapeshifts ability to combo early.

Fair decks like Merfolk, Zoo, Jund, Junk, and Collected Company lists are traditionally 50/50 matchups, but turning off Jund and Junk goyfs not to mention other powerhouses like scavenging ooze with rest in peace makes our matchup much stronger.
