Casual Multiplayer Lich Deck (Casual)

Playing this deck is meant to feel like playing a Lich in a casual multiplayer setting. While your opponents go about their business of trying to fight each other, your goal is to sit back and convince your opponents to target each other, rather than you. Eventually the goal is to have Lich and Solitary Confinement on the battlefield at the same time and have a bunch of counterspells in hand. And if your opponents don't have enchantment hate or bounce spells, you've won. The lifegain and countermagic should keep you alive, but most importantly counter magic must be kept in hand to protect your key enchantments late game. Once unkillable, your goal is to simply wait around, refilling your hand as needed and then drawing into a Debt to the Deathless, a Pathrazer of Ulamog, or an Approach of the Second Sun.

The deck is essentially a grindy combo deck that doesn't insta-kill, so much as insta-never die. This is by design, as Liches care little about the passage of time. It's also moderately budget friendly, excluding the card Lich which, let's be honest, is only expensive because it's old and rare, not because it's good. If your opponents know what you're up to, you're super dead, because the deck lacks anything really early game to keep it alive. That's okay. The deck feels oppressive when it goes off, and anybody piloting it should be punished for playing it too often. But when it goes off, nothing feels better. You really do feel like an eternal mastermind, indifferent to the goings on of the mortal world until you finally have the means to destroy it.
