This is my version of Meren (Yes, I know it is not tournament legal with the Recurring Nightmare. This is more of a for fun deck.)

Basically, the strategy is dump big dudes in your graveyard and abuse meren's ability. Examples are as follows:

Birthing Pod + Meren + Wurmcoil Engine - Sac Wurmcoil to Birthing Pod, go get Rune-Scarred Demon and get an experience counter and two wurm tokens; fish up a reanimate or something with the demon, rinse repeat. You can also get Protean Hulk which is ALWAYS fun with birthing pod or phyrexian tower.

Meren + Birthing Pod in general is an easy way to overwhelm early game.

Ghoulcaller Gisa + Meren + anything big/threatening makes for a tricky situation.

Lots of other interactions and synergies. Way too many to type out but as I find them I will make note.
