Matter Reshaper can really screw you over.  Under its effect, Walking Batista can be brought onto the field (XX is less than 3 for cmc).  However, when that happens, x=0 and Walking Balista instantly dies.  This is a waste of a useful four-of in your deck.  A good deck should never hurt itself. except for a win-con.

Im not taking credit for the deck as this is a recent top8 decklist i found in the internet. Nonetheless it would be up to me if i put walking ballista into my hand or onto the battlefield or am i wrong?

Walking Ballista would enter the battlefield with X = 0, its correctly what VampDemigod says.

But do i have to put it on the battlefield ? Since Matter Reshaper says "you may put it on the battlefield". I don't have to right? Would be happy about answer
