people like caves of kolios because it don't come in tapped unlike scoured barrens and can be used the turn it is played. I personally would for starters check to get shambling vent and even possible a drana or 2.

agreed commune with the gods is an ehh card. I don't know the creature's name but basically does the same as assault formation. You may also splash the white creature(s) that fishes for enchantments. I can't remember the names of those creatures either. I do know that assault formation by itself isn't always guaranteed to come out every time. Yet with the addition of hornet nest you may not have to worry so much.

Since talking about this creature, opponent turn is about to end. On your field have hornet nest and midnight guard. Play setessian tatics on midnight guard and then play ephemeral shields on hornet nest , end up with an infinat number of 1/1 flyers with deathtouch. Swing away on your turn.

What I like about hornet nest is the card ruling itself with letal damage. Any creature hits it that doesn't have trample deals all its damage to hornet nest. So a creature say with 5 power is blocked by hornet nest will kill hornet nest but out comes 5 1/1's with flying and death touch. Works as well against first and double strike. Trample is it's main downfall cause of damage assignment

vetren warleader is cool but his other ability only combos off beastcaller sevant. I am sure there are other creatures that have the same first ability and give a bonus more beneficial to this deck

need a plan to get assault formation out when it is not drawn? Alsohow about lagoona land trailblazer? Or hornet nest that has added benefits of 1/1 flyers with deathtouch?
